Avalon Plane Damage - Fighting Fund

Some months ago I started a fighting fund to raise money for the guys who had their aircraft destroyed during a microburst while representing RAAus at Avalon. The fund is now closed. Thanks to those who donated. It raised a little over $300 which was shared by three aircraft owners. All in all a pretty disappointing effort.

I was thinking of starting a fund to help me pay my insurance but I don't want to be disappointed too.

As a receiver of part of this fund. We would really like to say how much we appreciated the donation no matter how big or small. It came at a time when it was needed. When we have the plane up & flying again we hope then to be able to put the money back into the fund & some more beside. Thank you to those who donated. We are up to painting the plane & then have to get a new prop & spinner to finish it off, so hopefully by November this year we will be able to fly again.

G'day John, It's good to see that your aircraft is getting closer to flying again. Our club member Brian has his Savanah flying after a costly and extensive rebuild. Be sure to post some photos of the plane when she is finished.

All in all a pretty disappointing effort.

Perhaps, but personally I'm not inclined to give money to somebody who wouldnt stump up the insurance premium. They took a calculated risk and lost. While I sympathise with them I have enough trouble insuring my assets without helping somebody else with theirs.
