Well I'm finally in the air after many (many) years of talking about it. I'm a 'closer to 50 than 40' new student pilot with 2 hours in the log book (Cessna 152 Aerobat) and absolutely loving it.

I've recently been scouring and devouring everything general-aviation related on the net and happily came across this site with plenty of enthusiastic pilots and would-be pilots like myself, even a few from my local aerodrome of Jandakot in WA.

Looking forward to reading about what's going on with you all and maybe getting a few tips.

Cheers

Hi Mick. Welcome to our flying forums.

Lots to learn, just keep the motivation & interest going because the more you learn, the more you find there is to learn.

Thanks, Decca.

Anticipating no issues with lack of motivation or interest here. I find the theory and the reading almost as enjoyable as the flying. But not quite!

Cheers, Mick

Great news, Mick.

BlackRod's short story response is just typical of the attitude here!

Welcome Mick

Good to see another West Aussie amongst us!!

Dont worry that 2 hours will soon be 20 and then 50!

Ive just finished my ppl and my wife and I are going for a quick flight around the city and Kings Park tomorrow! She has never been in a light aircraft - we could have taken a two seater but Ive booked a 4 seater (Piper Warrior) with the hope she'll feel a bit more comfortable in the "bigger" aircraft!

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Mike

Good one Mike. The PPL seems such a long way away for me.

And getting my partner to get in a plane with me is even further off.

Hope you enjoy that flight. I know I will when I finally get there.

Cheers
