Guest Maj Millard Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Another biennual.......... Got another biennual out of the way this morning, with Andrew Hicks at Montpelier. Hadn't flown with Andrew before. Ask him how much he weighed whilst refueling, and he replied 100 kgs !. I stopped refueling at that point, as I figured we had enough on board for a biannual !. Not to worry as the Lightwing handled it with ease. After giving Andrew my standard passenger briefing, off we went with him informing me there would be a power failure at some point. He hit me with that pretty quick, and all went pretty well, and he reckoned we would have walked away from it ok. Then a couple of standard rate turns (he spotted the damn turn co-ordinator I have in the panel !) with the second one being a climbing turn. Then a couple of stalls, and back to the field for a low runway pass, followed by a downwind full stop landing. All good fun doing things one doesn't get to do very often. It's nice to jog the old brain cells a bit sometimes. I passed, and I can only hope he enjoyed it as much as I did !......Right for another two years. Thanks Andrew.......Maj...
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Only four that I can find in the logbooks since returning to this country. I flew for a few years in the US, and they didn't do them there at the time in ULs..................................Maj...
Sean Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Congrats & lucky you. I had my BFR booked with ProSky Caboolture for today but the weather gods said 'NO". Rebooked for next week, fingers crossed the weather gods will be kinder...!!! Cheers. Sean.
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 As you may know the weather has been very wet here also, but since it backed off about a week ago, the days have been just super clear, with very high viz. Hang in there it'll be worth it. Now all I have to do is mow all the weeds in front of my hangar, so I can get the plane out. !!...............................Maj...
