BigPete Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I think my Google Map is not quite accurate. :yuk: How do I check it When I enter a new waypoint on (Garmin) Mapsource and then go to Google Maps - it's not always that accurate - can be out 500 -700 metres. regards :big_grin:
Thx1137 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I think my Google Map is not quite accurate. :yuk: How do I check it When I enter a new waypoint on (Garmin) Mapsource and then go to Google Maps - it's not always that accurate - can be out 500 -700 metres. regards :big_grin: At work, we use google maps for our applications as long as accuracy isn't a great concern because it is not as accurate as our internal datasets. 500-700 meters does not sound right though, I am talking 10-50 meters. I don't have numbers to back it up, this is the info I get from the guys who manage our spatial data. edit: I just saw some others talking about errors of up to an eighth of a mile.
GraemeK Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 That distance error is what you'd expect with the wrong datum as basscheffers said ....
Guest magcheck Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Are you plotting airfields, if so the positions are for the ARP and not the actual runways
