I think my Google Map is not quite accurate. :yuk: How do I check it question.gif.c2f6860684cbd9834a97934921df4bcb.gif

When I enter a new waypoint on (Garmin) Mapsource and then go to Google Maps - it's not always that accurate - can be out 500 -700 metres. 051_crying.gif.fe5d15edcc60afab3cc76b2638e7acf3.gif051_crying.gif.edc6b33a234e272ee13f0ec0ae40b12a.gif

Is your Garmin's datum set to WGS84?

At work, we use google maps for our applications as long as accuracy isn't a great concern because it is not as accurate as our internal datasets. 500-700 meters does not sound right though, I am talking 10-50 meters. I don't have numbers to back it up, this is the info I get from the guys who manage our spatial data.

edit: I just saw some others talking about errors of up to an eighth of a mile.

That distance error is what you'd expect with the wrong datum as basscheffers said ....

Are you plotting airfields, if so the positions are for the ARP and not the actual runways
