winsor68 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Does anyone have any advice on setting up a computer based logbook (in addition to the traditional paper one of course)...
BigPete Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 G'day Cobber, I use Garmin Flightbook which is set up to read data from my GPS. You can however enter data manually. Coupled to Garmins Mapsource (which shows your tracks on a map overlay) it is a terrific tool. Your other option would be to set up a spreadsheet which could be configured to add up hours, distance, fuel used etc etc. regards
winsor68 Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=180659 I have googled it and their are some available ready to download... does anyone have any experience with any ready made free ware for this?
shags_j Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Give me a week or two and I will provide one for anyone who wants it.
shags_j Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 That's ok. But wait till you try it before you thank me. You coudl be cursing me within a week. I'd like to get the software so that users on this forum had a say in it's direction and features and hopefully I would be able to modify it appropriately.
winsor68 Posted March 15, 2010 Author Posted March 15, 2010 Shaqs... it would be a good resource to have available on this forum.
Admin Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Shaqs... it would be a good resource to have available on this forum. Yes, it's on the agenda and I know Christmas is coming as well
shags_j Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Yeah yeah. I had a wedding to plan as well ;) I've finished it and it's ready to rock. You just can't print yet. I wanted to add that before release.
Batesy Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I use a website called "http://flightlogg.in" As an example how it all looks, here's mine. Flights - FlightLogg.in - Electronic Pilot Logbook
shags_j Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Might have to add a feature to export from my program to that website... hmmmmm......
Batesy Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Might have to add a feature to export from my program to that website...hmmmmm...... Sounds like a great idea! I don't think it'd be too difficult to implement if you're fluent with excel.
Batesy Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I look forward to it if you decide to throw it in then! :)
shags_j Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 So who wants to test it for me. Batesy I havent' added the export yet. Will be the first thing I do on the next update.
