sleemanj Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Nice one on Barnstormers at the moment, but not exactly a do-er-upper. BARNSTORMERS.COM
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Yes nice one, and only 5.46 hrs !...didn't take long for him to scare himself !!..........Maj..
winsor68 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 I imagine that the Super Storch with the 210hp Lycoming would be a very different machine to the 912 or similar motored varieties that we hear so little about in Australia... I have heard a GA pilot who saw one many years ago comment that they were very roughly made???? Storch Aviation SCG, Aero club "Roda SCG" - Slepcev Super Storch
winsor68 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Air-Tec, Inc. :: Aircraft Engines & Kits The guy with the above storch seems to have a new engine less airframe for sale too...

Guest Maj Millard Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Windsor, yes that one looks ok if the us exchange is good. Thanks Cloudsuck, Yes, that's sort of what they sold for new for a while. If you know of anyone who may have details on the aircraft could you please let me know. Also heard there might be one at Gympie for sale ?...........................................................maj..

He keeps it on a private strip in Boonah but is getting a bit old to fly. He was ripped off pretty bad by Nestor, hence the high price of the aircraft. I ran into him at the servo the other day and made an inuiry based on your post here. I'll get a phone number off him and pass it on to you.
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Thanks cloudsuck, Would that by chance be the one with the blue and red on it that was kit built by a European gentleman ?.........................................................Maj..
Guest Cloudsuck Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 No, he is a european but this one is painted in a camo scheme.
Guest Cloudsuck Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I've managed to find a couple of photos of it on the net. This is the actual aircraft.
Guest Maj Millard Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Thanks again Cloudsuck......it's a nice looking machine allright.........................Maj..

Spin Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Here's a nearly complete Storch, seems a not bad price at 14,000 US.BARNSTORMERS.COM barnstormers = aeroplane porn:laugh: Bloke I know keeps sticking ads for RVs under my nose - all for prices that I could just about afford, pity about the cost of getting one ashore here. I asked a while ago and was told to budget $10k for shipping etc. Anyone know whether that is realistic?

Also if qty 2 A/c cant fit in one 40 foot container, you can split the difference.
David F Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Chasing a sleepev storch You dont have to chase too hard my mate has one and we are allways into him re the bug splats on the trailing edge. Dave ps they are a heap of fun
Guest joacofab Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Hi, I bought from Nestor a Slepcev Storch in 2000, I still fly it, it a great machine, even with the Rotax 912, its a tough aircraft, easy to fly and never have had problems landing, even with cross wind. However, I fly over water, in case of ditching is impossible for the pax to get out and probably difficult task for the pilot.
Guest Maj Millard Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Hi there in Panama, Yes, I don't own a Storch but I do fly one every chance I get after generally maintaining them. They are popular here in the bush for cattle mustering with some on their third engine by now, and well over 2000 hours on the airframe. I have been lucky to have flown probabily 8-10 different ones, and always enjoy, as they are a very well behaved and enjoyable flying machine. Fly safe ...Cheers ...............Maj...

Guest Maj Millard Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 You funny guys are absolutly correct, The Storch is capable of actually flying backwards (across the ground) into a very stiff headwind, as demonstrated by Nestor Slepcev on several occasions. Don't know if I'd want to try it in anything else though !............................................................................Maj...
