Guest MattB Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster. Never thought I had anything relevant to add to the forums until today. Just experienced my first solo earlier today out at Lilydale in Jab 4929 Been taking sporadic lessons since October last year, and after 12 hours my instructor gave me the nod. At first, thought he was joking, and nearly declined the offer, but soon realised he was the serious type and quickly found myself back in the Jab with no one in the right hand seat. Funny how everything falls into place. The stress levels that I had dreamt about disappeared and managed to carry out an uneventful full stop landing on rwy 18L. Dont think I could have done it without the information supplied in this forum (early on, my landings stunk), particularly DarkSarcasm's blog, whick i've read over and over. Cheers for now, and hope to one day post something relevant to help out another rec pilot, Matt B

Tomo Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Congratulations Mate! Awesome work  I know it could be hard to believe, but it honestly gets even better from here.  Welcome along also, great to have you.
Guest MattB Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 Thanks to all for the warm welcomes. Just completed a few more solo circuits today. We had a fluttering crosswind today which I havent had much experience with, but seemd to subside when I needed it to. Also had the pleasure of sharing the circuit with another student pilot who flew his first solo today, so that was pretty cool to swap war stories afterwards. Now that I've reached this milestone, guess I''d better knucle down and hit the books. MattB
