bernardc Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Being of the visually impaired pilot type and recently having to pay for new lenses in order to see anything at all ( instead of fuel for the plane ) I have found my new transition self darkening lenses to make reading LCD type displays (gps etc ) nearly impossible to read or see while flying , low light conditions are not so bad but when its bright and glarey its really bad.. any ideas comments etc, ( other than the obvious ,-- take glasses off, try touch flying, drive instead, get normal lenses, learn braille,) :hittinghead:
Guest ozzie Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hmmm, maybe some sort of filter cover for the gps display ??
Guest Wigg Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Would a smokey coloured perspects made up into a screen work???? Like the ones they used to use on the computers
icebob Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi bernardc, My wife had the same problem, it is the transition coating that is the issue. She had to get new lenses made and have sunglass inserts over the top of the new glasses. Bob.
Guest Howard Hughes Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Did you tell them that you were a pilot?
