sseeker Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Hey everyone, I thought this was a bit of a special announcement  I completed my first solo today at about 9AM AWST and it was awesome! Aircraft handles completely different to what it does with an instructor, no joke I was airborne in about 150m - it was crazy! I'm 15 years old and 2 days with now about 25 odd hours (stretched my hours out since I was 14) My brother got video from the ground so I'll be sure to upload that so you can all view  Thanks, Andrew
Guest Wigg Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Congratulations Andrew the buzz will last for quite some time, are you doing Recreational or GA? Wigg
Tomo Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Hey mate, that's Awesome!! I've never realised you were only 15, terrific stuff :thumb_up: Yeah the aircraft fly great without those instructors! ;) My first Solo in the Drifter I can still remember the details! Just great! Look forward to the video.... Did you know the solo was coming, or was it done on the sly?! How did he tell you? Love to hear about it! Take care, and I bet the grin will be there for a long while!:big_grin: (I know mine still is!! )

sfGnome Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Fantastic stuff! Wish I'd managed it 36 years ago :) Given how much better the little planes go with only one POB, how do you think they'd go with no one in 'em??

Yenn Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Congratulations sseeker. Now you have to wait before you can get a drivers licence, but I am sure you will be a good driver with your present accomplishments.
sseeker Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 It's a bit strange being able to fly a plane but not drive a car :P Thanks Yenn. Also is the video good quality? -Andrew
