gavinthobaven Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Do you have a J series Jabiru purchased in the first half of 2009 or near that time? The right hand undercarriage leg of my J160D failed after 70 landings. The failure was in the form of a longitudinal separation of the layers of the fibreglass. I have seen another leg that failed in the exact same way, it was from a J170 built in the same date range. Since lodging my defect report to CASA and RA-Aus I have found that there have been two other reports of the same type of fault. (edited) (edited) If you need any further information please do no hestitate to contact me. I have pictures of the failure on my leg and another one to show you what I mean. old man emu Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 J-430 Undercarriage Failure We have just discovered the same delamination failure in the undercarriage of a J-430 which is privately owned and operated. I don't know the TTIS. Old Man Emu
old man emu Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 I think that the problem might be limited to a single batch of undercarriage legs which was made in 2009. Old Man Emu
