Tomo Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Here are some pictures of yesterdays Inglewood adventure. Had a great flight there and back (28 min to do 53nm on the way back!) Went for a flight in a trike with Neil "Ballpoint246niner", and "Crezzi" in the other trike. (great to catch up with you Crezzi, and Neil again) Did a lot of talking ( :ah_oh: ), and meeting up with everyone again, was a great day. The Scale Spitfire was awesome! 350 Chev driven. Enjoy.............. Ps. First two pic's are out our place... under the shade of a (can't think of the name) tree. 6th Pic is the only way I could think of getting a shot of myself! (no not really...) makes me look fat.... Pic 17 is a nice looking Airtourer, and no it's not Mazda and co..... Pic 50, is a cool looking hang glider wing thing... apparently it glides very well. (Ahlocks: can you recognise anything? ) The last pic is on the way home, and no it wasn't dark.... just the camera light settings when shining in the sun make it look that way!
ahlocks Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Pic 50, is a cool looking hang glider wing thing... apparently it glides very well. (Ahlocks: can you recognise anything? ) That's the go young enthusiast!
Spin Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Looks like a good day - had wanted to go but was committed to Toowoomba today and thought I may be pushing my luck - especially considering Watts Bridge is coming up and Monto not too far beyond that!
Tomo Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 Yeah know what you mean Spin - sorry I didn't get in to Twb today, just ran outa time to be of any use. That's the go young enthusiast! Nah not me.... Took the pic and noticed the particularities - thought you might be interested. :clown:
Guest Escadrille Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Great pics Tomo. I love Inglewood a real enthusiasts turnout! I really wanted to go in the Jabby but have been crook as a dog with a stinkin head cold for the last couple of days. Talk about lousy timing! I managed to struggle around the David Hack day for an hour this morning in TWBA it's always a terrific turnout of exotica, A real Shame we can't get closer to the aircraft!
monty Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Sounds like everyone had agood time. Great photos Tomo and I know what you mean by the camera light setting. It must just be the western light, I get some like that at times . Thanks for the pics Monty
Guest JRMobile Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Inglewood or wouldn't Great grassroots fly-in with lots of stol aircraft, rag and tube, trike, and hand gliders. Tried the local white wine around the fire on the Saturday night and can report the Ingelwood Chardonay is very drinkable. ;) The air display by the Cessna 150 at 10 ft AGL was, to be polite, interesting. Congrates to all involved in the orgaisation of a great weekend. Cheers John PS I did spot the camera with Tom attached but didnt get a chance to say hi
Ballpoint 246niner Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Super Cool shots yet again Tomo, and hope you really enjoyed the trike flight. We took our two students wives up yesterday and they were both blown away by how good it is to fly trikes. Fantastic weather, great reunions with many long time friends and acquaintances and again great to finally meet your whole family- Barry must tremble at the thought of more aviators in the family! Good trip back via Gatton, beat this afternoons weather and smiles all round- will post our shots when I get them from Bill next week. Will visit soon!! Ballpoint.
Guest Walter Buschor Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Great pictures Tomo, It was a great outing as it always is. I did my best to spoil the fun by spreading the camp fire by tipping the drum full of burning ambers but it didn't work. On Sunday morning Hans from Kilcoy had a lot of bad luck when he taxied his 701 into a hole and broke the prop. John Gilpin then flew back to Kilcoy to get a replacement and to safe he day. We did check all the grass areas and found quite a lot of "booby traps" . These holes will have to be filled in but all this aside a well done to everyone who put in the effort to make Inglewood the best fly in in Se Queensland. Long may it last!!!! and a great thank you to all the Volunteers as without them it just would not be the same!! We returned to Gympie via Toowoomba . This was a great stop. ASICS where required but the Guys checking where most helpfull and tolerant to people like us as we left them behind. There was no drama coming and going to the planes. It seems that despite the rules common sens prevailed - again Well done !!. The return trip to Gympie was terrific and uneventful fly safe Walter
Ballpoint 246niner Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 BTW the Cessna wouldn't run up this morning- his goose was cooked! Flew real low(ground) back to the parking area-it sounded terrible on run ups!
Tomo Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 BTW the Cessna wouldn't run up this morning- his goose was cooked! Flew real low(ground) back to the parking area-it sounded terrible on run ups! Yeah, fowled plugs I heard...
slartibartfast Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Presuming the pun was intentional - good one Tomo.
wags Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 C150 antics? The air display by the Cessna 150 at 10 ft AGL was, to be polite, interesting. Congrates to all involved in the orgaisation of a great weekend. The guy in the C150 should loose his licence for being such an absolute idiot... no doubt his wayward actions were heavily discussed between himself and "friends" at a later date because he appeared to "behave" from thereon in. People like that can bring a fabulous Fly-in to its knees in a very short space of time! The organizers are to be congratulated and deserve support next year... it's undoubtedly "The Fly-in" of the year at the present time - if you enjoy basic flying.
Tomo Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Presuming the pun was intentional - good one Tomo. I did wonder if anyone would pick it... The guy in the C150 should loose his licence for being such an absolute idiot... no doubt his wayward actions were heavily discussed between himself and "friends" at a later date because he appeared to "behave" from thereon in. It's good to hear he did behave afterward, I mentioned it to some, so it's good so see someone brought it under control. I don't mind people having fun, but playing chicken on landing to aircraft back tracking was a bit much! The organizers are to be congratulated and deserve support next year... it's undoubtedly "The Fly-in" of the year at the present time - if you enjoy basic flying. Indeed, they are a great community - and it's a nice area. I did see a couple of CT aircraft Wag's - did you fly one over? Also I had someone come and introduce themselves to me, but I had to go quickly somewhere (in the trike I think) Was it anyone from here? I've been racking my memory for the name ever since, but not having much success. Sorry about that.
Ballpoint 246niner Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 To continue the"pun"ishment- Yes I thought fowled plugs were appropriate for a turkey. How ironic CASA were checking ASIC's at Toowoomba when over the hill this guy was at work- I wonder if Aust Flying would comment on VH vs RA Aus credentials when this stuff goes on in the real world too. This is the second example of this I've seen with VH a/c in the last few mths - and I thought us trikers were supposed to be the crazy ones!
Cosmick Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Nice Pics Tomo, Had a great weekend, thanks to the Lions Club and Locals for looking after us. A few more pics follow....................
Guest JRMobile Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Thanks for sharing the pics Cosmick - great aerial shots  "and I thought us trikers were supposed to be the crazy ones!" No Ballpoint, trikers seem to be good party people but showed some great airmanship dodging GA. And Tom - "Also I had someone come and introduce themselves to me, but I had to go quickly somewhere (in the trike I think) Was it anyone from here?" - Yes Cheers John
Tomo Posted May 6, 2010 Author Posted May 6, 2010 And Tom - [/size]"Also I had someone come and introduce themselves to me, but I had to go quickly somewhere (in the trike I think) Was it anyone from here?" - Yes Ok, had my suspicions that it was you, but wasn't sure!! Sorry I had to run off and didn't get to catch up, I got back then had to depart before I got stuck with the daylight running out! You may have seen me depart?! J120 - I stayed above the strip for most of the length, just for show sake Left about 4.50pm (got home in 28min hey! 53nm) Great pic's Cosmick, and great to catch up - be it only five seconds worth!
