slartibartfast Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 So ends another month with some great entries. While we wait for Angela to judge, announce and reward with her usual fairness and alacrity, why not hedge your bets and post some more photos this month? Get yourselves a'snapping and a'posting so you can be a'winning and a'boasting. Don't forget to have a high resolution version of your photo available for publication, and to send it to Angela at [email protected] when she announces the winners. Also remember that if you didn't take the picture, the person who did needs to give permission for publication.
flying dog Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 My effort. I know it is not EXACTLY what you may be expecting, but it is within the theme - I think. It is one of those "blink and you'll miss it" occasions. Alas I didn't get a front on shot. Drats!
sfGnome Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Here's lookin' at you, lookin' at me, lookin' at you... I think that I was the only person there who wasn't paying attention to the activity being filmed, but anything airborne is sooo much more interesting than what was behind me
Tomo Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Some from Inglewood - taken on my brothers camera - Panasonic GF1
flying dog Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I think that I was the only person there who wasn't paying attention to the activity being filmed, but anything airborne is sooo much more interesting than what was behind me I can't see the piccie.
Deskpilot Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 My effort.I know it is not EXACTLY what you may be expecting, but it is within the theme - I think. It is one of those "blink and you'll miss it" occasions. Alas I didn't get a front on shot. Drats! Whilst fly on Sunday I suddenly saw a WedgeTail Eagle go past my left wingtip with about 10ft separation. I too, didn't get a 'front on shot'. Gee, closing speeds can be frightening.
sfGnome Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I can't see the piccie. Hmmm... It was there last night, really it was! I think I know what I did wrong, so I'll sort it out and have another attempt tonight...
sfGnome Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Hmmm... It was there last night, really it was! I think I know what I did wrong, so I'll sort it out and have another attempt tonight... Right. Try again! (and it it isn't there in full size, you can always look at the thumbnail )

naemick Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 How did you "cheat" and make most of the photo B&W but keep the plane in colour? A little selective colouring... a couple of layers.... and put it all back together! Photoshop is handy - sometimes!
flying dog Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I've got to learn how to do that and how to do that "tilt focous" thingy.

flying dog Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Here is another effort. A catalina flying with clouds/mountains in the background. Wanaka in the early morning.
flying dog Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 And another effort. Some sky shots of clouds, Caloundra city/airport and a country town at sunset.
Scottw Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Ah yes some of the Cecil Plain'ites certainly captured some media attention today. I didn't get the full story on the local WIN News tonight but in the screen capture on the News I did spot a chopper in the back ground. With the colour I assume it was the CH10 Chopper Regards Scott
Spin Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Got in too late for the news, what have the country cousins been up to this time?
Scottw Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Hi all thought I would toss in a few images from recent warbird fly-away weekend at Maryborough Scott
