  1. If that's a misprint then someone's going to get in the .False advertising at its best and I would think that if someone responded to the add Jabiru would have to deliver. I wish!
  2. The latest RAA magazine (March 2010) shows the J120 in an add on page 28 with new features; electric flaps, cabin heater, range 1000Nm, wet wing (assuming 135lts) for $63K. Am I right in assuming these features are now standard? If so its great to see they have decided to include wing tanks although the usable weight would be less with full tanks. Seriously thinking of purchasing one but would be interested in a syndicate on the Central Coast north of Sydney.
  3. Just got this info today. It happened this morning. A man has walked away from his burning plane with only minor injuries, after an aborted take off at Warnervale on the Central Coast. The single engine Jake Special, was taking off to the south and had briefly become airborne, when the pilot realised the aircraft was on fire. He managed to make an emergency landing, bringing the plane to rest about 500 metres south of the tarmac. The 29-year-old pilot from Hamlyn Terrace, suffered minor burns to his face and was taken to Wyong Hospital for treatment. He was the only person aboard the single engine plane. Fire services were unable to save the plane which was destroyed in the blaze. Police have referred the matter to Air Safety Investigators.
  4. Hey Bob, When you talk her in to it - let me know how you do it. I think you will crack the $64M question. My wife has flown with me a few times but as for doing any trips, forget it!
  5. Thanks Sain and Kaz. Kaz, I flew an Archer on one of my navs and did enjoy it but found the C172 a bit better. I guess its just what you get used to. Good luck with your PPL. Have you done all the Theory and passed the PPL test yet? I did all my theory first, passed the PPL test and then found I could concentrate on the flying. It was a little easier for me to do it that way.
  6. Hi All, Just thought I'd pop in and say Hi! A little about me - Have been flying for about 10 years mostly in C150's and C172's at Warnervale YWVA. Have got my GFPT with only 3 navs to go. Time and money have made it difficult to fly more often but I am not in a hurry. Looking forward to posting on the site and hopefully getting up in a Jabiru one day.
