  1. Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping that I'm not the only one interested in microlight triking in Tassie as I'd like to get in touch with some current pilots to help convince the other half that microlighting isn't a death wish. I drive past the Sandfly strip everyday going into Hobart to work. Sometimes see a Rotax powered ultralight cruising around the Huon Valley that I presume is flying from Sandfly. I've been looking around for other strips to fly from once I've got a licence and a microlight. Looks like there's one at Glendevie about half way between Geeveston and Dover. https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Glendevie+TAS+7109/@-43.2304899,146.9984645,1235m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0xaa6c267e2d626ffd:0x403c94dd0de0870!2sGlendevie+TAS+7109!3b1!8m2!3d-43.2448727!4d146.9910693!3m4!1s0xaa6c267e2d626ffd:0x403c94dd0de0870!8m2!3d-43.2448727!4d146.9910693 Not sure who owns it though. 2. Hi there, just some old photos of a Thruster 85 my Dad used to own in Rotorua, NZ. Taken at Rotorua Airport sometime in 1985. I think this was when it was just delivered. I did a few hours solo and then took to hang gliding instead. My Dad and brother flew the Thruster for 10 years or so. Cheers Mark Thruster T85 specifications.PDF Thruster T85 specifications.PDF
  3. Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm interested in getting in touch with some trike pilots in Tasmania. I used to fly hang gliders 20 years ago in NZ and did a bit of flying in my Dad's Rotax 337 powered Thruster too. I've had enough of being grounded and I'm keen on learning more about triking as it looks like a good way for an ex hangie to get back into the sky. I live nearby Hobart and also travel to St Helens every month or so. Look forward to hearing from someone. Cheers Mark
