  1. Hi Guys! So I started my flight training a while ago and racked up about 14 hours, then a few things came up (baby, house, business start up) basically life. 18 months later and I want to get back into it. I just have a few questions I thought you guys could answer. 1. Obviously I'm not gong to jump back in and be where I was at 14 hours when I left, so I'm thinking another TIF? and X amount of hours to get back up to scratch. 2. I really want to have my ground school done and dusted, books exams etc. I completed my pre-solo test before I left, does this become outdated or obsolete having not completed the certificate? 3. What books have you guys been using to study? The book I have from my flight school is great but I feel like having some other sources of information couldn't hurt. I am going to see my flight school later in the week when I can get out there but thought it wouldn't hurt running some questions through on here. thanks guys!
  2. We've got one as a gate guard here at wagga, along with a few other aircraft. I'd be keen to see Temora Aviation get their hands on one, not that it would ever happen due to the end of use agreement.
  3. Awesome, I'm pumped to get it done. Take the Mrs up and get her crook I did some work for a couple living in the dairy next door to the airport and told them if I have EFATO I'll pop in for some tea and biscuits.
  4. I am pumped! Can't wait to solo......and also nervous as all Buggery! I'm not sure how my first solo will come around, some have organised it with my instructor while others I've talked to have had him just get out and say go. I'm in a way, hoping for the latter. So basically there is no theory for PAX, it's all practical? Jayke
  5. I try to fly every week or two so that shouldn't be a problem. Especially at the moment doing circuits.....I'd do 10 in a session.....(does that count? )
  6. Thanks mate! I'm getting close to my first solo (nervous!) and was wondering if I still put my instructor or me down as PIC. But in hindsight that seems silly if he's not there .
  7. Thanks mate that's helped heaps! Do solo hours during flight training count or must I have the certificate? Yea I've been looking at a few knee pads and the ones here in the shop don't look that bad. Thanks
  8. Hey guys Just wondering what's required for taking passengers a long for a flight once I have my certificate? I'm getting mixed messages I've been told 5 solo hours and others say ten. Now is this because of 5 hours or so solo during completing the certificate with an additional 5 after wards? Or is it ten hours after completion of the pilots certificate? I would also assume there is theory as there is with every other endorsement. Plus on a side note, does anyone have and use a thigh mounted note pad during flight for information? Thanks in advance guys
  9. Has he looked into cadetships? I am in the process of sorting out all the same questions, self fund my license? or Cadetship? I've decided RAAus is the best way to go to gain some hours and see if I have the aptitude for it all....(the commitment and enthusiasm is most definetly there!!). I'm steering towards a commercial career, not looking at a military career, but that's up to your nephew! So in my opinion RAAus is great place to start, it's cost effective and the hours all count! And as for money, RAAus offer scholarships to help get your certificate so he could apply for one to gain some hours but not spend his money. Jayke
  10. This would of been an interesting flight. I bet you his a$@e would have been puckered.
  11. Connie stopped in at Wagga airport today
  12. My flight school says I have to do 5? And that human factors is its own exam? Everyone does stuff differently maybe?
  13. Yea, my flight school have that all sorted luckily :) the first two are pre solo and something else. Yea the tecnam doesn't have wipers...do any LSA? So that'd be freaky! Jaykes
  14. Yea I've got my pre area solo exam and one other....maybe human factors (I don't think it's my BAK just yet) coming up so I've gotta buy and read my books haha Fingers crossed you get a flight in tomorrow bud! Jayke
  15. Hope so! It's devastating being pumped for a fly and having to cancel! The safest decision obviously but it sucks being on the ground. Jayke
