Remember, for anything that you need you can use the Clear Prop Free Sourcing Service on the Clear Prop site...just click the image on the Clear Prop Home Page, complete the popup form and click submit. That tells me what to try and source for you at the best possible price, quality and service

This is what I mean, you can get not only a new sender but also a completely new Gauge and wiring as well for less cost than what the supplier you have listed cost is for just the sender and Clear Prop have them in stock for overnight delivery. Also I also have other new gauges engine gauges sitting here on my desk right now which are very high quality but I am yet to be given their cost prices but I believe will be cheaper again. These are all for Rotax 912

Don't you guys like supporting this site by supporting Clear Prop where possible? It seems you would rather spend $15USD plus Shipping to get a Fuel Shut Off Valve when clear Prop has them for $9.95 AUD, in stock and get it over night from Melbourne for less shipping cost. Also noticed that Gap Seal Tape was needed and it was suggested to go to Wings and Wheels in the US...well, now that I know about that I have just purchased the tape for Clear Prop to stock at half the price you would have paid. Guys, if you do need something please have a look in Clear Prop, if it isn't there, I can get it, AND if you find something sourced elsewhere then also let me know so I can add it for Clear Prop so everyone can be better off. Clear Prop is what helps to make this site and all its resources available otherwise I will have no choice than to move the site to Facebook but with a lot less free resources

As a heavy sufferer of Skin Cancer (more surgery on Tue) I am always wearing a Cap outside as they say Slip, Slop Slap etc. and I have a huge range of baseball Caps with all different slogans and Logos on them. So I was wandering what does your favourite Aviation related cap say AND/OR what would you like to have one saying...I might be able to get them made for the Clear Prop shop. There would be far too many of mine to list here. Just thought of having some fun...Remember AVIATION RELATED

The options I have without recoding the core files are very limited. I can set per usergroup (i.e. Members group, First Class Members group etc) the time limit a user has to edit a post - problem here is if it is too short then users don't have enough time to correct anything in their post, if it is too long then following posts may become irrelevant and the whole thread is impacted I can turn the "Post Edited" notice in a post ON or OFF only - problem here is that if a user reads or even posts a reply within the time limit a user has to edit the previous post again their post may also become a victim of the problem above. At least if it does show that the previous post has been edited it could very well save the thread I am very much stuck between a rock and a hard post here. There are 2 options that I can see that may be able to solve these problems: 1. If you need to edit your post but can't as the time limit has expired, post again any clarifications you may need to make 2. If it is very important simply Report the post saying what changes you need or PM me with the changes Remember, read the post before pressing the Submit button, and if there still ends up a problem, there is always help available to you

Sorry mate, unfortunately that is hard coded into the software. I could change it however it would continually plaque me with problems especially when updating.

Hi, finally, after months of hard work in not only software updates and a hugely extended range of current and new products the Clear Prop Pilot and Aircraft Supplies is now open. Remember, your support of Clear Prop helps to ensure the Recreational Flying site remains free and available to everyone. It costs thousands of dollars a year to keep Recreational Flying .com here and available to you so PLEASE, support Clear Prop, help promote Clear Prop to everyone, in your chats with other pilots, at the airfield, here in your posts etc. Purchasing your needs from Clear Prop will help this site help you. I still have many more new products to add to the store our extensive range of hardware like nuts, bolts, screws, clamps etc. PLUS I am still waiting on the complete range of Pilot Supplies from the Aircraft Pilots high quality range of products; ANR and Passive Headsets, Headset parts, Headset extension leads, adaptors and cables, I have already received some of their Pilot Bags and some accessories, also the shipment of Recreational Fling Headsets. Some aircraft instruments like pedestal mount compasses, AH's and DG's etc have arrived and arriving soon is an even bigger range of engine instruments. Other instruments have been slotted in the manufacturer's production line in the coming weeks. I have access to over 28,000 product lines so to support you even further you can use the Clear Prop Sourcing Service. Click the Sourcing image on the Clear Prop Home Page and simply fill out the form of what you are looking for. The last couple of days I have been testing the new order communication system of Clear Prop as order come in and that is working great, keeping you informed on everything to do with your order, including advising you of shipping tracking numbers. Finally, I am excited to announce that you will receive a FREE gift with any new order you place, for a limited time. And, as always I really do welcome ANY feedback that you can give, that is the ONLY way I know what is working right and how I can improve...thanks Just click Our Shop in the main menu to take you to ClearProp.com.au

I just had a look and yes you are a First Class Member. So just to test, can you make a post and try and edit it say 20 mins later and let me know
-
However, you can always do what you did and report the post advising of the changes and why and a Moderator, or myself, will change it for you and ensure any following posts are still in line with the changes.
-
No sorry, standard users have a 15min window to be able to edit their post where First Class Members have many more abilities like they have a 30min window The issue is that if users can just change their post it can make users that have posted replies look rather silly...even to the point where other people may think that the person making the reply as one who doesn't read posts properly and things like that. A whole thread could become rather ridiculous if this was taken to the extreme.

Instruments, Instruments and MORE Instruments
Admin commented on Admin's blog entry in The Clear Prop Shop
And even more -
Another delivery, they are coming thick and fast, this is the first shipment of Instruments for the NEW Clear Prop Shop and yes stock will be maintained as best as I can. The only bad news is the Instrument Manufacturer is no longer making Turn Coordinators and the reason for the lack of supply has been they stopped manufacturing during Covid and are only now just starting to ramp up production again. "Due to the impact of the continuous pandemic in previous years, the labor costs and the supply prices of key spare parts for our instruments keep increasing, so we are unable to control the costs within a reasonable range. Starting in March last year, we stopped production of all models of altimeter, airspeed gauge, and vertimeter. This has continued to this day. There is information that it is expected that we will start production of airspeeds in June and start vertical by the end of the year. There is currently no new news from the altimeter. We also made price adjustments last year. We have retained the production of the compass, DG, and AH, and resumed the production of the sideslip instrument. Simultaneously updated the engine instrument and sensor series. I have arranged for the production of the compasses, and the estimated delivery time will take 2 months. We will not produce Turn Coordinators again. The ASI will resume production around June, and there is currently no time for the Altimeters to resume production." So, as you can see it is hard to get stock especially things that are specific to the Southern Hemisphere like compasses and engine instruments and sensors for recreational aircraft engines. So all I could get in this order is: 20 x Slip Indicators 2 x Pedestal Compasses (more in 2 months) 3 x Pedestal Compasses with 12v Light 3 x DGs 3 x AHs 1 x Rotax Oil Temp 1 x CHT Temp 1 x Rotax Tacho 1 x Fuel Pressure Many different sensors

The NEW Clear Prop Shop is coming along and should be open by the end of this week...there are so many new products at discounted prices that are being added to the store...just because it is aviation does not mean prices should go through the roof especially for recreational aviators who are flying just for fun and not reward. 3 new detectors have been added, 1 CO detector (for the Hangar) and 2 CO2 detectors but they detect so much more to keep you safe when flying: 2 IN 1 Carbon Monoxide & Combustible Gas Detector Alarm - $37.50 This CO & combustible gas detector is the device which can detect combustible gas and Carbon Monoxide that occurs at the beginning of a potential life threatening event or a fire disaster and generates live Indicator LED &sound alarm, This detector uses a catalytic combustion method sensor which is stable and reliable. It keeps you safe from the threats of CO and combustible gas (such as liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, methane, etc.) CO2, HCHO, TVOC, Temp & Humidity Detector - $54.95 This air quality detector is compact in size, lightweight and portable. Uses highly precise temperature and humidity sensors, real-time detection and automatic refreshes data. Large LCD display showing the battery level, CO2 value, TVOC value, HCHO value, temperature, and humidity. Can be used not just in your aircraft but at home, office or anywhere that may present an air quality risk to your health CO2, Temp & Humidity Detector - Infrared NDIR Sensor - $74.95 This carbon dioxide meter uses the best and latest technology Infrared NDIR Sensor and will accurately read the carbon dioxide levels anywhere, and also help assess the amount of ventilation in any indoor space. Help ensure that indoor ventilation levels are at an adequate level to ensure the safety of everyone inside.

@johnm if you are referring to the development of the site this year then: - the site layout - to be defined based on user input - the menu bar - the first video in the first post of this thread should show you what it "may" look like. It is a redevelopment of the current side bar menu - the index - the index page will be reworked from the current one now shown if you went straight to www.recreationalflying.com - the road map - can't be defined at this stage as it can only be based on the core tools of the software - the big picture - well, this is easy, the site will remain until I die or can no longer maintain it BUT it will continue to be dedicated in the absolute best way possible to helping recreational aviators to be safe and learn from each other - the ? - huh - where ? - huh

Social Australia (.com.au) will also change but users will not need to do anything

Important FAA Handbook includes principles of flight, airplanes and engines, performance, weather, navigation, and more. (FAA-H-8083-25C) Providing basic knowledge essential for all pilots, from beginning students through to the advanced certificates, this Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) publication introduces readers to the broad spectrum of knowledge required as they progress through pilot training. Studying this book, pilots gain the required knowledge to earn a certificate and understand aerodynamic theory associated with flight. Written for the pilot preparing for a Remote, Sport, Recreational, Private, Commercial, or Flight Instructor Pilot Certificate, it is a key reference for all the information necessary to operate an aircraft and to pass the FAA Knowledge Exam and Practical Test (checkride). This invaluable learning tool begins with a basic introduction to flying and a history of flight, then explores the role of the FAA, criteria for earning the various pilot certificates, how to select a flight school and instructor, and the tests associated with earning a pilot certificate. Topics covered include aeronautical decision making, aircraft construction, principles of flight, aerodynamics of flight, flight controls, aircraft systems, flight instruments, flight manuals and other documents, weight and balance, aircraft performance, weather theory, aviation weather services, airport operations, airspace, navigation, and aeromedical factors. Appendices provide additional support including acronyms, abbreviations, NOTAM contractions, airport signs and markings, a glossary and index. This 2023 Edition reflects the latest aviation industry procedures, equipment, techniques, regulations, and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recommendations and is a key reference in the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS). Changes include updates to drugs and the impact on flight, nontowered airport operations, and attitude indicator pitch and bank limitations. Complete with chapter summaries and illustrated throughout with detailed, full-color drawings and photographs, this handbook functions like an “aviation encyclopedia” to expand pilot knowledge.Free -

This FAA handbook provides tools to help pilots determine and assess each situation for the safest possible flight with the least amount of risk. (FAA-H-8083-2A) This FAA handbook provides tools to help pilots recognize and manage risk and presents definitive practical guidance on how to implement and conduct the “identify, assess, and mitigate” tasks identified in the Airman Certification Standards (ACS). Pilots who practice effective risk management have predetermined personal standards and have formed habit patterns and checklists to incorporate them. This handbook presents methods that pilots of all types of aircraft can use to manage the workloads associated with each phase of flight, resulting in a safer, more enjoyable, and less stressful experience for both themselves and their passengers. In the last 20 years, approximately 85 percent of aviation accidents have been caused by “pilot error,” which can result from focusing primarily on the physical aspects of flying the aircraft. The certificated flight instructor (CFI) who integrates risk management into flight training teaches aspiring pilots how to be more aware of the potential risks in flying, clearly identify those risks, and manage them successfully—building a solid understanding of how to avoid the most common pilot errors and supporting a safety culture in aviation. An important component to airman certification, risk management is applied by identifying, monitoring, and managing potential components that affect risk, thereby allowing the pilot to be better prepared to mitigate risk. This full-color manual covers subjects such as an introduction to risk management, personal minimums, identifying hazards and associated risks, assessing risk, mitigating risk, threat and error management, automation and flight path management, and aeronautical decision-making in flight. Appendices contain additional risk management training and tools, accident case studies, and risk management exercises applicable to small general aviation training aircraft, helicopters, and large turbine-powered aircraft. Helpful tools include chapter-end summaries, glossary, index, and internet resources throughout for additional resources and information.Free -
