  1. But, the RAA audit does not publish the complete audit list it has compiled?
  2. I wonder what is on the rest of their ‘list’ ? We are only getting half the story?
  3. It’s no wonder people don’t care too much for the rules and go and do their own thing and are harmless to everybody around.
  4. I might suggest there are people flying out there who don't fly to the rules, WHY because many are onerous and unfair in some cases. I don't care how many rules you make…….people will always die flying aircraft, same applies to cars. Education is the key……..even pilots with thousands of hours make mistakes. There are risk taking pilots, will rules force them to think different? Some maybe, others no…… Be honest, what is the chance of breaking rules and being caught? Many pilots will never see a ramp check in their flying life? People want to fly incognito? They turn their Transponder off, don't file a flight plan? and don't use their radio except to listen. fly in remote populated areas from private/property airstrips? Some probably dont have a licence nor a registered aircraft. First that CASA or RAA know they exist is when they fatally crash. How do you prosecute someone who is DEAD? Fine his Estate? They simply become another DEATH by misadventure statistic? One that CASA or RAA cannot prevent, no matter how many rules there are…….
  5. MY opinion is the whole RAA thing is a total crap show and needs disbanding THEN rebuilding. It CANNOT continue as a company AND regulator with compulsory membership.
  6. The CEO is ex CASA? I would allege he could have a tainted view of how RAA policies and regulatory responsibilities are and should be be applied? I believe there was a covert visit by one of their officials to the Old Station Fly In. No doubt on a data gathering mission? Is the whole RAA System too onerous? Its not correctly structured as it is being a regulator we must be a member of as well as being a company. This is MY opinion and my comments are based on that.
  7. It will take a disaster to force a change, CASA will make a an order on RAA and they will have a knee jerk reaction and respond with a hard nosed solution in a very short space of time, to appease CASA. Members will lose this way. IF a policy was made over time with good planning, the the outcome may be far better?
  8. And yet, they do not do incident/crash investigations now?
  9. Different to AOPA, they have a great big bus 🙂 RAA is ahead of Police Air Wing in Qld, their acting Chief Pilot does not have a Helicopter Licence, and some of their pilots are not special constables, so the land beside a suspect, but cant arrest them 🙂 Thing that bugs me is, every time I get an email from RAA its signed off as being from RAA Team 😞. Has no one in that organisation got a name? Or don’t they want to be identified? My bitchy Sunday morning!
  10. I would like to know what the CEO’s ‘company car’ is, and what any other ‘staff’ vehicle allocations are?
  11. Many are probably privy to details and don't want to publish specifics as they could end up in legal trouble? Its not hard to end up with a writ hanging around your neck, these days……. 😞 o
  12. No, but when you are not privy to everything as a member because I am a newbie, I sought advice from a learned member I know. I was advised dont do it…….Now I have nothing against the guy in question……I don't know him. But I had the impression a bushfire was burning, but I did not know why, or where? I have been mired in this sort of stuff before and It can be debilitating. Gee all I want to do is have fun and fly aircraft……thats it! ! No wonder I want to rip off my rego numbers, run my membership through a shredder, appoint YouTube as my new CFI and turn into a flying hermit 🙂 Organisational Wars are not my thing, too old for it.
  13. Maybe they should be allowed to offer training in sectors including RAA? FAA USA are looking to allow LSA Training facilities to do FAR Part 103 training.
  14. Enclosed pre filled in voting papers acceptable?
  15. It could be alleged that the organisation’s database was used by the accused to send out emails by himself to solicit votes to his possible personal advantage. I did receive one such email, being a member of the organisation.
  16. I would rathe be with SAAA and have SAAA rego, if it existed 🙂
  17. I have always applied the policy of replacement before failure. 1HZ Landcruiser get a recommended timing belt kit every 100,000km so I do waterpump, all belts, hoses, thermostat at the same time. I even keep a spare rebuilt injector pump in my spares cache 🙂. I even have brand new in boxes H55 transmission and matching transfer case too, amongst brake pads, linings., bearing kits and even a complete fan to flywheel 1HZ engine with 200k on it, 2F petrol motor 125k I bought 30 years ago. The list goes on…… Now collecting aircraft spares 🙂
  18. And, don’t have enough time left on the Earth to build a plane. Need to buy RTF and just hit the sky, ASAP 🙂

  20. Sadly, no STC for that. Can just image what Jabiru would say 🙂
  21. Simple, just WEAR a Parachute……many Glider Pilots do.
  22. I have being given a diagnosis by my Doctor. Now suffering Terminal Hermititis 🙂 Which will get gradually worse. It is a desired disease for some Aviators that are sick of all the bullsh1t regulations that seems to contaminate modern Aviation 🙂
