  1. Good looking kit 🙂. This, is my summon help device….
  2. Well, sit back and see how our air space changes by ASA go? I will hurry up AND wait 🙂
  3. Decisions are usually set in concrete WITHOUT considering submissions, they are only paying lip service to people in an effort to make them feel all warm and fuzzy. Nothing more 😞
  4. Generally, an Epipen is only used by the person who may need it. No one except well qualified medical professionals are equiped to deal with giving an unconscious or non communicative person any, medication. I have always carried extra medication for a possible need, when my wife an I travelled all over Southern Africa on a motorcycle, my GP loaded us up with enough different medications to bring a dead whale back to life 🙂. Stuff you would not get into or out of the country with, these days. My wife got food poisoning in South Africa……Gastroenteritis fixed 🙂. Along with a few other maladies on our trips there.
  5. I need to think what I need to add to a First Aid kit in the way of air sickness medication, since I have been flying I have only got a bit sick a couple of times and not sure what causes it. IF I am skipper in a boat, no problem. However I did a tour boat trip to Balls Knob? when on holiday to Lord Howe Island. Never been so sick in my life, took some over the counter pills (Quell) Useless, sick as a dog the the whole 3 hours of start to finish. Bothers me IF I get turbulence while flying…….bit hard to fly and use a chuck bag! I know I had some pretty good stuff when I got Chemotherapy for my Cancer 10 years ago……it was that good, I did not need an Aeroplane, to fly 🙂
  6. Which raises the point……carrying a small Aid Kit in you aircraft sounds like a good ideas. Wonder how many people do it?
  7. Too nice to fly 🙂 Make space for it in your lounge room!
  8. My problem is not fly over 1000 ft AMSL, and airstrip is about 550 ft AMSL give it take a bit over its length. Anyway, I spoke with Rocky Tower the other day and had that confirmed. Apparently they keep a local ‘mud map’ of private airfields anyway, to which I will add mine. They did not say I could not fly, but going under 500ft other than for departure and arrival is not allowed, so see what happens. Told them I would use a Skyecho2 ECD for ADS-B in/out that they cant see anyway, but others can and they did not know such a device existed 🙂 I advised I would make radio calls for departure etc etc an they seem happy with that. Guess I will find out on the day I call for a departure advice and see what happens 🙂
  9. Quite simply for me, a Skyecho2 is an investment in safety, It may not be a total answer but it’s better than NONE 🙂
  10. Well, Skippy……. sorry but my mind reading facility is working ‘on condition’ due to its battery being past TBO. Just like my life is 🙂
  11. Replay of AOPA stream on Facebook.
  12. Sad news for Blue Mountains, a live stream by AOPA this afternoon with the current leasee revealed closure date of 19th Nov 21 will see the keys handed back after some 50 plus years. A kick in the guts for local Aviators and others who used this facility.
  13. Just purchased a Skyecho2 ECD today 🙂
  14. If people take the job, they should do their best to further RAAus. If they want a bludge…..then go home….
  15. Here is pic, Webb Road runs between Nugget Ave and Burnett Hiway (red) Airstrip (green) runs North/South, it’s 1500 ft long. Very slight downhill to North. Height is around 500ft AMSL and 12nm from Rocky airport.
  16. But what about entering the local Flying School training area D706?
  17. Thanks John……will give them a call 🙂
  18. IF it was that simple 😞 Airstrip at waypoint ‘Weasel’ ……… 23 35.066 S. 150 27.163 E
  19. Silence is deafening 🙂
  20. Well, I ended up in contact with Brisbane Air Services after being given multiple phone numbers. I was enquiring on information about arrival and departure from my own ‘firebreak’ read airstrip for which I gave the GPS coordinates. Seems I must fly not above 1000 AMSL until I get away from below Class E airspace. Now this gives me an approximate clearance from terrain of 500ft variable for some distance, as my airstrip is 500ft or so AMSL. I am asked why can I not ask for clearance into controlled air space? I told him no go with an RPC….. So, it looks like I am in for some low level flying, like it or not 🙂
  21. Subject says it all, called their 1300 number this morning, immediately put on hold……told I am number 1 in the line, another 5 minutes and I get recording that there is no one to take my call and to please leave a detailed msg. that was an hour ago. So far, NOTHING……. But, IF I violated controlled airspace……someone would be waiting on the ground for me, with handcuffs at the ready 🙂
  22. I will go back through my logs and see IF it was a home made addition? Would have to be probably factory sanctioned for. 23 rego aircraft?
  23. Sounds like a really well run operation…….a few others could learn from it 🙂
  24. I just use an iPad now…….not used desktop machine for a couple of years…….
  25. Just the usual click bait sales pitch…….
