  1. Support is everything for me, a Rolls Royce is useless with poor support. Rotax have great stuff, but their newer technology can take a hike for this old Dinosaur and Jabiru are a great team, the welcoming I got at their factory was enough for me, ask any question…..got answers, no secret squirrels there. AND they are 400km from me, drop in anytime they said.
  2. Skip, get back to me when You have had a good look at one, just getting the software out of Rotax, to setup and commission it is a nightmare and that, is only the start. Interfacing to a Dynon or Gamin is another thing 🤢
  3. Try a cable break in a winch launched glider at 400 feet? You get a fraction of a second to do a major nose down……it’s a great training experience……
  4. As an aside, yesterday I looked at an aircraft getting retrofitted with a new Rotax 912IS and decided after looking over the complexity of the job and the differences to the 912 UL it replaced. I would never consider doing that job. I would simply have done that job with a Gen 4 Jab motor. I would suggest ANYONE going to a 912IS is, DONT 🤢 You want to go 912IS? Just go buy a new aircraft with a factory specced one.
  5. What about Ben Morgan and AOPA becoming involved in this situation?
  6. Here is another’ worthy contender 🤩 https://youtu.be/zCWMfqOCBXs?si=THu3Un3tOsJzGv5c

  8. It would sure pay to have Aviators on Council 🤩 Maybe work towards that?
  9. Unfortunately, airport/strip closures will become a sign of the times 🤢 https://www.facebook.com/100063952303049/posts/pfbid0RSzuGNB7GpnEoxRnSf66oU83qzsyrdicticxyf1M8YQqvrFihsZwRVKE2t48iq3Hl/?
  10. If only Aviation in this country could wake up to itself, but I won’t hold my breath 🤢
  11. I repost this, final destination oof a Part 103 aircraft to Oshkosh AirVenture

  13. IF it’s smaller than a 737, they probably don’t want to know 🤢
  14. You want kids to get into Aviation? Do what America does with FAR Part 103 hint 🤩
  15. This Drifter came to our flyin at Raglan last year, Tony from Gympie?
  16. People who fly unregistered or no licence, stay away from YouTube, Facebook and Forums having fun living a real life like many, before the Internet.
  17. Next target is, clearance to land for An FAR Part 103 aircraft flown by an unlicensed pilot, Just like they do at Oshkosh Air Venture 🤩🤩
  18. We can have all the regulations in the World, At the end of the day it comes back to Aviators themselves regardless of regulations etc. It’s called personal responsibility and applies to everything you do in life. No amount of regulations will make a perfect World. I will say lots of non complying aircraft are back in the sky, but not registered with RAA. They are like a car, you don’t need a licence or registration to drive, just don’t get caught. NOT having a licence or registration does not affect your ability to operate. I have dealt with RAA and deficiencies in their rules, and they did not seem to care. So now my attitude is to apply MY responsibility, by doing things the way I need to do them. We are now overloaded with many rules which serve no real purpose, not to mention they are overly complex. Just look at the rules we now have compared to the old Ultralight days? Just look at FAA’s rules for Part 103, it’s an A4 page only. I have a DAME I personally know…….just listening to him is very enlightening…….. Australia has a mad fixation with regulations, but can’t enforce many of them because the staff or the regulators don’t know many of them, themselves. Know of breaches by RAA themselves? I do……..
  19. I believe there is a court action involved, something to do with grounding of aircraft from what I was told. 🤢
  20. On principle, I would have stood my ground because RAA requirements were complied with on the day. So they changed their mind? I think RAA gets a thrill out of making things hard? Or has the Bristell fiasco spooked them? Not sure that is done and dusted either, from what I hear. 🤢
  21. That, looks like a drum full of RAA Brown snakes 🤩 I have to ask, is RAAus on a witch hunt, looking to ground aircraft? Give members a hard time? Being a member of a company is a problem? No wonder I believe we need FAR Part 103. 🤩
  22. The quality of that report equals the same as a Billycart losing a back wheel 🤩 Need to do better than that….
  23. So, the kit maker must have sanctioned the 544 rating at some time? They would have been aware of what was going on in Australia ? Could an engineer certify the 544 MTOW? Now have there been any structural problems with this model of aircraft? And crashes with an adverse investigation outcome, due to airframe failure?
  24. Yes, but it’s not……you should have heard the attitude I got over it, there was no reason to say what they said…….I was talking to an aviator friend about it tonight, he said a few choice words an added, just de register it tell RAA to go jump, and fly the thing. Shades of FAR Part 103 🤩🤩only I think the Thruster may be too heavy 🤢 I guess I could go VH and tell RAA to go jump? Now there is a thought 🤩
