1. Mark, love the phrase (turning grass into lawn). Because the name is longish (presuming this is what you want and not Mazda), do you think it looks better slanted with the cloud like this?
2. I'll get them off here. (and understood)
3. Thanks mate. It still wasn't right though. The orange no longer worked for the username. I've now used the same rainbow as the logo. Works better I think. I'm pretty happy with this one (I could fiddle for days), so let's go with it. Refresh the page if you're still seeing orange.
4. Is this one any better?
5. Well obviously they don't call it that. That'd be silly.
6. Haven't you heard? The sky's the limit. And don't call me Shirley.
7. It's not bloody orange! I'll try another sky tonight. I guess we can offer a choice for that too. It's easy enough for me to have multiple layers on the image. It is a bit full on for a sticker, but if the print quality is good I reckon it will work. I didn't expect everyone to like it, but at the same time we're never going to please everyone. slartigraphicdesignfast
8. Yes Darky. That was the point of posting what BigPete wanted straight away. I usually can't stop at a first draught, so the way to make this happen might be to go with this one and start taking orders - if people are happy enough with it (we've had a couple who were and no dissent). I can always play around for the next one. How do you want to go Darky? Get people to post their orders here? Maybe just post the phrase you want, whether to include your username or not, and how many? Do we know what it will cost? Can I end this without a question mark?
9. Here's a first stab at the stickers. Any comments? Keep in mind that this is a low resolution jpeg. The printed one will be 300dpi. I can substitute your userid and phrase at will (he won't mind). The plan is to put them all together onto a big sheet and send them off. The printer will cut them up after printing.
10. Thanks Bruce. I had an awesome trip thanks. Finally got to fly to my Dad's hometown (Hopetoun) and see my poor frail Gran who no longer recognises her own children, let alone me. Then down to Bendigo where I had a fantastic roast with my Dad and 6 of my favourite Aunties and Uncles (one of whom flies a trike and 2 others are great friends with forum member Wayne - who unfortunately was away). I had 45 knot headwinds in the morning until I got past the ranges, so I stopped in Yarrawonga for fuel. Their bowser has been ripped out too, but they have a truck and the guy was handy. I'll drop in to Deni another time. Ross
11. Got a moment to add some of my fav pics from the trip. 12. Turbs, I've been looking hard for a software setting which changes the screen brightness. I can't find it yet, but i strongly suspect it's in there somewhere. They might have it down by default to extend battery life, but a simple text edit might turn it up. Have a good poke around and carefully try editing any likely looking setting you can find in .cfg or .ini files (back them up first). I don't have one to play with.
13. You could change the prop for one that climbs better - obviously you would trade some cruise speed for it though.
14. Welcome rhysa. It was a beautiful day in Bendigo yesterday, but there was absolutely no activity at the airport. Seemed weird. Good luck with the training.
15. It's a total bugger those 7" units aren't bright enough. I still highly recommend the Mio 4.3" units. The screen is always readable, but this weekend I added a sunshade visor and now it's perfect! I picked up 2 more recently. I'm keeping one as a spare, and the other is going to a forum member. If anyone else wants one, speak up. There's more available. I can convert them and fully load them for air (OziExplorerCE with your choice of WACs, VNCs & VTCs) or road use (MioMaps 2008), shipped to you for $320. Brand new Mio 370 with bluetooth. They have TMC (live traffic info) too. Ian has also talked to Mio about Clear Prop becoming a distributor, and this isn't far away either.
16. Thanks Matt. Visiting Grandma in Hopetoun, then some other relies in Bendigo.
17. I'm planning refueling stops at Deniliquin and Bendigo this weekend. Can anyone confirm that 24hr card swipe Avgas is available at both airports still? With the rate they're been withdrawn I thought I'd check that the latest ERSA isn't out of date already. Thanks.
18. Hi Brian (say hi to Linda). I haven't flown Polo Flat in nearly 30 years. That's where I first went solo. There's a lot of info on this site run by Mike and Elizabeth Apps - the owners. It says prior permission is essential. Have a good one. Ross
19. Me neither MrH. You'd reckon that would work, but I can't get it to do anything. I note the speeds are a bit out too. Don't know why. Must all be a function of the TrackMe software that creates the kml.
20. Thanks for the overfly Mike - and congrats.
21. Here's an example trip And here's a place (in this case a polygon showing Tomo's strip. Tomo's Strip.kmz ytem-yglb241009.kml Tomo's Strip.kmz ytem-yglb241009.kml Tomo's Strip.kmz ytem-yglb241009.kml
