  4. I remember as a teenager attending a camp near RAF Farnborough when I saw and very much heard a Spitfire Mk goodness knows what, flying overhead with a 2,000 hp turboprop engine fitted. Imagine 16 of those flying overhead. Having said that, there is nothing to beat the sound of Merlins. I spoke with a German wartime pilot many years ago in Guernsey who flew Me109's and said that if they had been fitted with Merlins they could have probably won the war.. Alan.

  12. You are correct Teckair and the reason I said 'yes' it could have been a GA pilot is because it could have been me. I have been a GA pilot and Ultralight pilot for many years and for the reasons you give above I am sure that I could have avoided the Ferris Wheel in any of my ultralights. Alan.
  13. Stone the crows you have just spoiled my enjoyment of the movie, I thought he had slowed the engine to idle to demonstrate its slow flying capability, after all the prop was turning very slowly. . Alan.
  14. Turtle Wax Shampoo.

My wife had the best deal as she married her Toy Boy; she is 354 days older than I am.. I will send you a PM when we reach 80 yrs just to see how you two are going.. Alan and Jacqueline.
  20. How can you have an all flying tail if it doesn't flap... Alan.
