    What you say is true Gentreau however one GA training airfield in South Australia uses a left runway and a right runway operating on different radio frequencies so there is a risk of head-on collisions when two aircraft are on their base leg if they extend that leg. Alan.

    I talk to the GPS lady in my car quite regularly and I am sure that she listens because frequently she asks me to head in a completely different direction. I always have my wife in the car so there is no way that I am going to follow her directions because I believe she is trying to get me to her house. . Alan. the faithful.

    If that is correct it would have involved a fairly steep turn to to do a 180 and get back onto the same runway. Alan.

    I don't usually comment on accidents and above all, I wasn't there however, looking at the crash site in relation to the airfield and in particular the runway on Google Maps it would appear that he was passed his turning point from base onto finals. This may account for him trying to tighten the turn to line up with the runway. Just a thought. Alan.
