  1. Too upbeat now😂
  2. As with all these weasly ideas ‘different’ is hard to sell to a very entrenched market. Most people dislike flyi g they just wanna get there so speed is e eruthing! First of type is a huge risk! Can’t see it taking off beyond the curiosity stage?
  3. 42 years from big city dromes to fly infested outback holes! Don’t assume!
  4. How many times have you lot seen a fuel filter of any brand clogged or severely contaminated? In 50 years of tinkering with donks from lawn mowers to turbine donks I’ve never seen a severely effected fuel filter! get over it!😂
  5. We should rejoice, what with so many of our fellow brethren out of work any opportunity to get a job even if for a short while is a good thing☹️ I wish them all the success but it won’t be easy, Aussie's are known to chop such new adventures off at the knees!👍
  6. I detest QF, often known as the SkyGods (personnel opinion only) so any Airline that comes along I embrace👍
  7. Was taxiing out one day in a PA42 when the tower said I need to return to the Co apron. Seems a mech just realised he couldn’t find his lock wire pliers....shut down he took the cowl off and there they where sitting atop the PT6.......it was a nervous flight after that!
  8. You are one brave soul flying over tiger country in one of those things😉👍Your music puts me to sleep😂
  9. I hope no one asks how a wing produces lift otherwise we are stuffed!😂😂👍😉
  10. The big boys could eaily design a SE jet Airliner due the huge output of today’s donks but will they! Nope never will all due to ‘safety’, just ask CAsA what safety means.......$$$😉 Twins do give you options, SE simply has no option other than you are landing/crashing, same thing😉
  11. A bone done is probably a good idea in an ultralight with lots of metal in close proximity to your CPU. Even with a full harness adjusted tightly of at least 5 points it’s surprising the amount of body movement one gets, Aero’s attest to that!👍
  12. That’s the beauty about Pvt flying, you don't have to go if it’s marginal👍 We’ve all had days where we wish we were down there than up here!
  13. Quad bikes are well known to be killers, ask anyone in the EMS field, I know I’ve seen the work those dangerous things do! RIP, another one taken by them☹️
  14. After reading all the fear here I don’t think I’ll ever fly again, just too risky😂😂
  15. Gippy is a nice area to drive around in a plane. Used to enjoy flying along the 90 mile beach, start past LKE then do a U turn at MCO, all at 501’😉
  16. Not even close Farri😉
  17. Place a billiard ball on a well level table, it stays put.....the Earth must be flat😉 guess the Alt!
  18. I’ve been using the cheap & nasty filters for ages, Changing them every 50 hrs and filtering my gas thru a Mr Funnel every time, never seen dirt or water anywhere👍
  19. With the advent of GPS in pretty much every airframe in one form or another an indication of speed is easy sort.
  20. That's actually a rare bottle nosed dolphin with wings & fins?😉 Shown with an astronaut who is well behind the craft during the splash down phase.....t😁
  21. Ive seen this sort of event personally & in recent times. Moderate DA & a poor performing engine. Luckily the occupants walked away from the crash less than a K from the end of the RWY. It happens and it remains a mystery as to why we do it?
  22. Tragic & totally unnecessary:-( I often read the Kathryn's reports (whilst I re-fuel my FlightSim), makes for sobering reading at times:-( Pilot/human error is always the cause nothing will stop that, there will be more guarantee it despite pilot experience!
  23. I recall that Dehav crash, it was used for a review of VFR flight in marginal WX for a few plane drivers I know some years ago. An utter tragedy that was utterly unnecessary:-( It will happen again, it's human nature to break rules written & personally:-(
  24. Canards whilst a clever design cant be that good otherwise after the 'Wrong Bros' started out with them aircraft manufactures would have stuck with them to today, few have tried, most have failed. I don't agree that driving a car or a boat is anywhere near a comparison to driving a plane. Your car engine stops or yr boat engine stops you come to a halt, pissed off maybe but that's all, a plane is an entirely different beast when it all goes pear shaped!! Flying is still a skill well beyond other types of machinery operations, trouble is (like Ive said ) it's way too easy to get a plane ticket & it shows! Some years ago the RFDS looked at the P180 Avanti, whilst technically advanced in some area's compared to the current RFDS fleet (B200) It failed for various reasons. Orphan type air-frames always seem to turn out lemons in reality.
