What its worth is dependent on a lot of things. The aircraft is 2009 with 700 hours so I would be cautious from the get go. Is the engine Gen 2 , 3 or 4? If its a gen 2 or 3, does it have 7/16 through bolts? If it has 3/8 through bolts, it costs a lot to upgrade them. How many hours are on the engine since the top end, and have the pistons been replaced, if so, how many hours are on them? What was done in the top end? Was it a complete top end or partial? The Gen 2 / 3 Jab engine is known to cause issues that can be expensive to rectify once the engine is over 400 hours. There is a lot going on inside the engine that causes these issues but thats another story. Also to consider is the prop thats fitted and its condition. The scimitar props are good, but have a recommended inspection schedule at the factory. refer to the prop manual that you can download from Jabiru. Then there is the issue of condition and when it was last flown, etc. Also to consider is the status of service bulletins and whether the aircraft is up to date in this area. I am a L2 and have specialized on Jabs for over 14 years and operate 5 Jabiru aircraft in a Flight School, and I have seen a lot of aircraft flying when they are not compliant. Some aircraft have required up to $10,000 worth of work to make them safe and compliant but these are for amateur built rather than factory built. Factory built I have seen $6000 spent to make the aircraft good. Assuming this is RA registered, is the owner providing the ACR or are you getting it organized? Dont always believe what is written in the ACR from a owner friendly L2. Good luck with the purchase.
