  1. the marap for the gazelle prop still hasn't been done after a month or so wait. you would think a gazelle /bolly marap would take 5 minutes. plenty of them have fited with bollys.
  2. Yes. But I want to know how they can accept rego fees for a non compliant aircraft for 20 years without any concern. If there had been an accident in that time would the insurance pay out.
  3. A friend went to transfer a Gemini into his name and raaus stopped it. We have been waiting a month for them to say if they will approve it with a 582. They have been taking rego fees for 20 years with. This engine on it. Now they say geminis came out with a 503 so 582 is not compliant. A thruster is underpowered with a 503 and 2 POB.
  4. Is this to beat the orangutans tariffs
  5. This one will carry the hummelbird for a high altitude launch
  6. Pocket rocket is a single seater. The rear seat is only big enough for. A child or some luggage and as you say it's a taildragger. Pocket rocket is a one piece wing. This one is a 2 piece wing.
  7. I think it is designed by the owner. Lightening is side by side taildragger. This one is a tandem nose wheel.
  8. There is a cricket fitted with twin RC jets.
  9. You can't say your bored anyway😁
  10. Yes, I guess that depends on how many people start the hobby late in life and how many have been in it since they were young. I fall into your category having got into it in my 50s.
  11. There is an interesting letter to the editor about Ra member age. There seem to be few young members. The only young people I have seen at our club use raaus as a cheaper stepping stone to cpl. They rarely build or buy aircraft and stay in raaus . Seems to be the same in every club I have been in over the years. Bearing this in mind if the average age of our members is say 50 plus then what will it look like in 10 or 20 years time.
  12. No one mentioned the free funnel. I can ice a cake or top oil up now.😁
  13. A large RC jet engine would be pretty cool in a sapphire.
  14. That's what I hated with my 582 powered xair. It used to spit oil onto the fabric tail skins. excellent engine though.
  15. I was just taking a guess at 20 HP 2 stroke consumption. One of those little 4 stroke paramotors would sip fuel .
  16. The only one I have seen was bought off Kasper in this group. That had a kfm 20 HP 2 stroke. Supposed to have had a top speed of 80 knots.
  17. A lot of work and expense for short flight times. A sapphire does 80 knots with a 20 HP 2 stroke at I guess around 10 lph. You could fit a 4 stoke paramotor to one for an extremely efficient aircraft. I see the attraction of electric but petrol wins I think. Just a dinosaurs opinion.
  18. I don't know what they could say when the information has been out for so long. I think a statement months ago would have been more appropriate.
  19. Sorry , posted screenshots arse about. This is from raaus today.
