So you would think a crank snout with more bearing area and getting rid of the long extension should fix the problem .
I know when I got my 2200 I thought the prop was a long way from the crankcase.
there is not much support for the crank snout and they often use long extensions to mount the props. cherna believes the cranks would be fine if they had more substantial support behind the prop.
this video paul cherna has on facebook shows what he considers the problem with jab cranks.

i have a friend looking at changing a 24 to 24 experimental , wondering if anyone knows what it cost roughly to do this.
there was discussion about it a while back but i can't find the thread.
When you go for your rpl you have to get ASIC before you are allowed to solo.. I don't think he has to have a casa license. He needs a casa number. Which is done online.
ok. the gun license is subject to a lot more security scrutiny than an asic . an asic is only a security clearance too.
a fishing license is charged to cover the cost of restocking and fisheries management.
i am sure the other licenses you mentioned are for similar reasons.
you are listing a heap of stuff that has nothing to do with the subject.
I don't mind getting an ASIC but why charge $300 for it and why can't they accept other is that we may already have. For instance my cat h handgun licence took months of applications and security checks ,
Finger prints etc. surely something like that would suffice for airside entrance. Like everything else now ASIC is supplied by third party providers and they all have their hand out for your cash.
Have you had that happen with a 912. I would have thought if it was the way the lines are routed it would happen every Time he flew it not just this trip. It will be interesting to see what it was when he tracks the problem down anyway.
Hope you get it sorted soon. I don't think it's valorisation or orifice size.
I thought 912 vaporising was more of a heatsink thing when you shut down and fire it up again shortly after.
The return orifice is a standard size and fixed . A problem with that would have been noticed well before now.
Mate got one off him the other week a lot less than that. Must have second hand. Looked like new though.
Anyway I would rather spend a few hundred bucks to be sure .
Bit hard to get out and walk if engine stops. Unless you have air
Brakes like bugs bunny.,😁
in think thruster88s theory is most likely. why don't you replace the mechanical pump. if thats not the problem you will have a spare.
change filter first obviously.
does not make sense. the electric pump doesn't care about an open valve on the Mech pump. it would if the valve somehow jammed closed, don't think that would be possible though.
i just have to bite the bullet and get that rpc. gets disheartening when you have been trying to get it for so long because instructors keep moving on to other things.
seems to be a transient job in gippsland. i went in a texan today with a cfi that is not going anywhere. he said i am nearly there. so fingers crossed it might finally happen.
