  1. probably had to get his laundry done while he was grounded too.
  2. good point but in this case he was on radar and they would have alerted him to set a climb to safe altitude if he wasn't already.
  3. it would be a great experience, a bit like what holbrook used to offer. but you are already an raa pilot so what are you going to achieve doing that.
  4. that video i posted shows how easy that pilot and his family could have lived. he just made bad decisions until it was too late. all these videos suggest switch to autopilot if equipped because it does not care if its in clouds but the pilot believed it was u/s because he had not learn't how to use it. he could have turned back early as well. he accepted an imc route when he wasn't rated for it. so many mistakes .
  5. I thought the fuel tanks would be the same . Engine is 22 kg more.
  6. there is already a 3300 jab powered aeropup that goes really well i heard.
  7. ok. i was confused but now i am not so sure.
  8. I am not getting my point across. Training is always a good idea. I am saying part 103 is aircraft that you don't need a licence to fly as jack has been talking about for ages. Now he is saying he would like a certificate for it. ,?
  9. i mean why would you have to get signed off when you don't need a license for part 103
  10. i made the comment and you answered it. before that we only knew it had leakdowns done but not how long ago, as you know early jab motors get pitted bores if left for too long without pickling or regular runups. good luck with the auction.
  11. Why would you get signed off for part 103. That is against everything you have been going on about for the last couple of years.
  12. They can be uprated to 544kg
  13. Would be a good project for 5000. Too many unknowns to pay any more. Those leakdowns could be done before it was put in storage. Has it been sitting for years unpickled . If it came out at no more than 20,000 ready to fly it would be ok. 55,s. Are not worth a lot.
  14. You have to have an RPL , so what's that got to do with raaus. You might have an raaus aircraft with transponder and radio but only a GA pilot can fly it.
  15. Pretty much the same except for the much lower speed of the xair.
  16. Just wondering what rpm people run jabirus at. The jab paperwork for my 2200a solid lifter model says 3300 continuous but we have only been running it at 2800. Is 3300 a bit ambitious on jabirus part. I would have thought the prop speed might be a problem at those revs.
  17. Do you know if any are flying over here yet
  18. 2nd Danny's suggestion, Oil is a good idea. I wouldn't think you would have much call for oil filters. A visitor may want to top up his oil outside of workshop hours at the airport . Good coffee. Maybe microfibre cloths and window cleaner .
  19. I found the class 5 quick and easy to do. Took about half an hour. I rang casa with a couple of questions and the bloke I spoke to was very helpful. That's the only experience I have had with them.
  20. 10 knots is a huge increase. What is it that makes e props perform so much better than other brands.
  21. Ok your right. Getting sidetracked. But I am going RPL now. Then check ride for my rpc afterwards.
