  1. i think its a bit over the top. i just give my plugs a squirt of oil or crc and have never had a problem. as nev says correct torque is the most important thing, thats what we were taught at trade school.
  2. there is a windsock that looks like the wind is straight down the runway
  3. thats a bugger, is there anything else as good that you know of.
  4. aircraft spruce, as spacey said.
  5. thats the one
  6. yes, but a with a very good reputation and not all that expensive either.
  7. we learn to fly without rudder in one of the modules but i guess that goes out the window if the vertical fin is missing or hanging to one side.
  8. just a quality regulator
  9. if i keep the xair i might look at fitting a rotec alternator kit.
  10. mine runs through a powermate , would that help. they are supposed to a top of the range rectifier regulator.

  13. 12V 650CCA LiFePO4 Lithium Motorcycle Battery YTX20 YTX30L Harley davison WWW.EBAY.COM.AU 12V 650CCA. LiFePO4 Lithium. Powersport Lithium. Motorcycle Battery. Battery Type Height: 130±2mm. Width: 87±2mm. Length: 150±2mm. i thought these being designed for motorbikes would have a similar charging system to a jabiru its 650 cca not 800 like i said earlier
  14. i may need to get the starter tested too, the brush end of the starter is the only part of the system getting warm after winding it over. battery leads stay cold. it is on the cool mornings that it doesn't like to turn over,
  15. thanks glen. i will stick to agm then. i think the cables are 10mm so should be fine. i have read that moving the earth lead to the back of the jabiru starter can help, i will try that.
  16. hi, wondering what the latest consensus is on fitting lifepo4 batteries to aircraft. from what i understand they are safe unless punctured. they are able to be charged by any charging system . i want to use it for my jabiru / xair. 800cca for 2 kg, my battery lead run is over 3 mt and the 270cca agm is struggling.
  17. quite a nice looking little plane with good leakdowns done recently, but 25k reserve is more than what its worth.
  18. Not even halfway to reserve yet
  19. You pay full excise then claim fuel credits on each bas report if eligible. That's with diesel, I guess commercial aircraft operators may have a similar system.
  20. We pay $2.80 p/l down here. I would think it would be similar up your way.
  21. How do you get the discount on avgas
  22. Thanks don.
  23. They didn't get much uptake in the jabiru kit so now they just supply parts for the people that own them. Doesn't mean I can't ask what the outputs were.
