  1. So for the people who bought tickets and didn’t win, ( including many of us at Angel Flight), it was the same as not winning any other game of chance. The real issue here was that the promoter retained the proceeds, and didn’t make the required payment to us as the nominated charity. Angel Flight did not pay for any promotional activities. that paragraph is a bit insulting i think not winning a scam is definitely not the same as not winning in a proper lottery. our money was taken under false pretense.
  2. to can the raffle of that bushcat and keep everyones money is pretty dodgy. would that be fraud.
  3. whats the bushcat debacle.
  4. it was open to anyone . at the time people from the usa and other places asked about this and were told it was not restricted to australia.
  5. not upset , just annoyed you ignored my messages but doesn't matter.
  6. i wouldn't bother helping this bloke. something dodgy here. i gave him a replacement tacho and mailed it at my own cost and he has given me the cold shoulder since. strange.
  7. On the way. I sent you a dm
  8. might be why he needs a new tacho
  9. That post is miserable and un Australian. Take away all the raffles and competitions charities rely on and that leaves a big hole in their revenue. We got bitten by this scammer but that doesn't normally happen.
  10. it doesn't take much. looks like there were a few aerochutes there.
  11. You might want to look at skippys post on the prev page
  12. bugger. i spent a couple of hundred on that raffle. i wouldn't care if af actually got the money even if the aircraft didn't exist. makes me wonder about all the raffles for cars and stuff on facebook, does anyone actually get their prize. there was a girl on tv last year that had her new nissan patrol repoed shortly after she won it.
  13. An aerochute nose wheel is fixed, you rely on getting it off the ground to steer. If the wind ,light or not suddenly dropped or changed he could have got speared into the fence when the nose wheel came down.
  14. i posted a facebook post from the owner of the property, i don't think anyone can see it. he said they were caught by a wind change , they never actually took off.
  15. the reporter on 3aw said it was a solar powered paraglider . thats even better than a cessna 😃
  16. it does not take much wind to upset an aerochute if your near obstacles.
  17. i owned an aerochute, horrible thing but they seem to have a good following. i also went for a trial flight on a windy morning at werribee. maybe 5 or 6 knts. the passenger before me got crook and came back in after 5 minutes. i went up for about 10 minutes and it was not pleasant. went home and sold mine.
  18. on a jabiru i think a kubota mower regulator used to be what they came with.
  19. whats your opinion on powermate regulators.
  20. i think thats why powermate regulators were fitted. this xair has one and i had 2 582s and a 503 and they all had powermates as well.
  21. Great job Damian. Send me a mailing address and I will send you a genuine Rotax 2 stroke tacho. I have a couple. No charge ,happy to see it gets used.
  22. They were going to sell them on here in the shop. I will see if they are available
  23. Radio seemed fine today . Rpm didn't have any effect, the only thing I noticed was the volts were sitting on an even 14 today. When the inference was bad was when i had to jump start it . Maybe more to do with charging circuit. Anyway I will leave it alone now while it's good. A friend did say I should invest in anr headsets because there is so much background noise in the xair.
