  1. Risk of electrical fire was the part that caught my attention.
  2. I wouldn't use aluminium cables, Piper issued a SB years ago about aluminium starter cables, can get a STC to replace them with copper.
  3. Is the thrust line of Rotax correct?
  4. I don't see any VFR waypoints on your $15 piece if paper, plenty on Ozrunways.
  5. https://www.flyingmag.com/continental-engine-issue-drives-grounding-of-cirrus-sr22s-other-aircraft/ "call for a specific inspection of the crankshaft counterweight retaining ring within 5 hours for those new or rebuilt engines with less than 200 hours in operation since installation"
  6. Get some of the 6mm door molding trim about 75mm long and stick it in the thrust line at the trailing edge on the side you are pushing the rudder. If to much try a shorter piece, not enough make it longer.
  7. For the one I posted.... At one metre it takes about 4 minutes for 20 litres, on the wing it takes just under 3 minutes. I should have mentioned that the spike is about 35mm wide and doesn't fit all drums. Fits my red "Scepter" drums not the black ones or my other red ones (SCA from Supercheap)
  8. The original poster stated he has no problem getting the 10 litre drum up high enough, but getting the fuel in the tank is the problem. This is nothing like a siphon and would solve his problem.
  9. Only used it for the Piper and car, if you can get it within a metre it would work fine.
  10. Try one of these. Put drum on wing, turn on and pull nozzle trigger, runs on 2 "d" batteries and lasts for ages.
  11. Not mandatory going by CASA, the wording is "should"
  12. Did them at Archerfield in the mid 90's, request low level circuits and if they can accommodate they will let you. (Never said no to me)
  13. No, the aircraft doesn't have carb heat, or airbox.... Incorrect cable fitted from factory
  14. I know of a Tecnam 2008 that if you pull the knob that is labelled Carb heat, your feet get hot.
  15. Recently I asked the question about the door on the right side of the Pipers. On the Cub it needed to be on the right side so when you prop started it you could reach in to adjust the throttle. When the PA-28 was designed the door was put on the right side because they had always put the door on the right side of the aircraft.
  16. Check that the vents from the carbs to airbox are connected and not leaking.
  17. Hi Frank, can you PM me the pilots name, I can't find it in the Facebook post. Kiwi
  18. What information did you have ready for this question? "for ADS-B installations, a signed declaration by an approved installer using the template provided on business.gov.au- external site" Kiwi
  19. until

Sorry to hear about your brother Old Koreelah.
  20. I was in a Drifter, had tw0 20 litres drums plumbed to the bottom tank. Always had planned fuel stops arranged and only had to chase fuel on a couple of trips away. (Diversions and/or whether conditions)
  21. With Narromine and Dubbo close by I don't think fuel is required at Tooraweenah. I have landed and camped there three or four times. Great little town.
  22. Samsung tab a 8". Never closed down when fitted on the dash of the RANS S6S. Same tab on the 140 Cherokee and it has shut down 3 times, all on 30+ degree days. Two of them when I was doing my BFR.
  23. Pa-28 140 is 24psi by the book, 975kg Rans S6S I run 20psi And in the Drifter I run 10psi, any lower and the tyre moves on the rim.
  24. Nearly happened to me once, then I saw the "remove before flight" tag.
