  1. That’s why I’m suspicious of the regulator because the current was 7 amps to the battery so in essence more than 1 amp and I think the tacho has just had its day maybe and thanks to Brendan for his advice and offering of a spare one I do appreciate it a whole lot .

Oh ok not he battery is fine nev no build up it’s just as the increased rpm the voltage to the battery and then in turn to the instruments also increases to a point where it’s sometimes around 18 volts now in my limited understanding I’d believe that the voltage regulator should limit to about 14.5 v max and increase the current for an increase in rpm while holding a steady voltage to a point where the battery is charged and then floats the current?

  14. I just checked my voltage 14 volts at 3000 at around 5000 RPM getting 17 Volts at my battery up to around 21 Volts at around 6000 I believe I need to replace it. Any ideas?

  21. Thanks for the info yep that is in the to do list replacement of all perishable items such as mounts,rubbers, hoses, ect .I also want to upgrade the cht and egt gauges and maybe put in fuel gauge and flow meter any other advice it all helps cheers Damien

I check the bore of this engine it still has cross hatched in the cylinders and looks like new piston rings as the previous owners son who advised that the engine was rebuilt but only ran up for testing purposes one step closer any other information that you guys with experience think I need to check or advise to work on ??
