  1. With services like Flightradar 24 it leaves you open to scrutiny by anybody. Your movements are easily tracked once that ADSB transponder is turned on and if you're not going to turn it on than why install it in the first place. Your movements are tracked every day by street cameras picking up your number plate and facial recognition tracking you walking through the city.
  2. No doubt there'll be an element of risk in most communities but hopefully most of us never encounter it. Any city or town with a high indigenous population usually run into problems. There's reluctance from the police to arrest and deal with the perpetrators. Their instructions must come from up the line but there's clear racial prodigious against Caucasian offenders and therefore the indigenous offenders run riot with street drinking and antisocial behaviour allowed to carry on unchecked.
  3. Ripper came home yesterday. After parking it at Ora Banda I thought I should have removed the brand new Kings fridge but we were too far away when I thought about it. I was quite pleased when I jumped up there and saw the fridge still in place. Them my mood took a bit of a dive when Mrs M said "Where's the roof"? The canopy must have been a lift-off device so lifted off somewhere between Ora Banda and Cue. The solar panel has gone as well.
  4. I'll take my chances. A lot of what goes on in small towns is a bit of rivalry between families. I'm aiming to get there on the weekend so hopefully find some idle hands to help slip the wings on. I really need a forklift to take it off the trailer and I'm not taking mine.
  5. Just spotted this on the news flash...
  6. All loaded for the trip south. We only got home last night. I plan to lift it of in Northam and put the wings on. My LAME will fly up to there and inspect it.
  7. Interesting. I just spoke to Andrew at White Gum Park. He has four hangers with accommodation erected and two more in kit form on the ground. They can't be sold as it is a private rural property. It appears he's working in tandem with the White Gum restaurant and caravan park next door. Most likely not suitable for us but I'll drop in for a look.
  8. Both Bindoon and Muchea airports are in the Pearce military training area so they can only fly or train on weekends.
  9. My concern is that you are trying to resolve the high oil level in the rocker boxes. Are you sure that this is abnormal? How would anybody know how much oil is expected to be in the rocker box under normal operation? Nobody can see in there. If you can be sure you are consuming copious amounts of oil you may be on the right track otherwise I'd be looking for other reasons for the sparkplugs failing.
  10. Yes I agree, I think you're trying to resolve a problem that's not there. However if there are no valve seals and if that oil level in No.4 is abnormally high perhaps it can feed oil down the intake valve guide. I'd be looking for other reasons for the plug fouling, fuel, spark or sparkplug heat range. If its burning enough oil to foul the plugs in a short period of time then there'd be a lot of blue smoke.
  11. Yes much bigger than I need because I'll only need space for a vehicle in Northam after I bring the plane to Cue. I just spoke to the LAME. As long as I can finish my flying lessons there in Northam I'll have the plane on a trailer within the next couple of days. I'll assemble it down there and I'm back to flying again. You could easily get four planes like mine in that shed 15m x 15m.
  12. I'm told the Shire of Northam own the airport so they charge rates and lease. The guy selling it was unwell so I got the figures from his wife. I'll get more info later.
  13. That confirms my mathematics talent 🤣
  14. My guess is that it's always there. I don't know the engine but perhaps the oil return is via the pushrod tubes? Most people would have no idea what goes on under the rocker cover during normal operation because we can't see in there.
  15. I know nothing about these engines but I can't see the connection between an oil flooded rocker box and fouling the sparkplugs unless the valve guides and seals are a problem. There's no other way this oil can get to the combustion chamber. It could come right back to fuel mixture or fuel type causing the spark plug problem. Any sparkplug not firing correctly can appear oiled up. Are your sparkplugs the correct heat range for the job?
  16. I dropped into Northam airport yesterday to checkout the facilities and make a few inquiries. It may have been better done on the weekend when the club members were around but it was worth it anyway. I found a nice front row hangar for sale although the owner was still chewing over the price (he only decided to sell yesterday) it may be ideal if i wasn't for the ongoing fees. I forget the exact prices as I was driving at the time so didn't take notes but from memory the Shire rates is about $1150 p.a and the Shire rent for the hanger space is $5250 p.a. That's over $500 a week after you fork out enough to buy the hangar. It was much bigger than I need at 15m x 15m with a bit of unpaved yard space as well however without renting it to PAYING tenants it looks like a good opportunity to throw a lot of good money away fast. I asked the lady how much it would be to rent some floor space for a light aircraft. She said about $300 a month, a much better deal for me, not so good for the struggling hangar owner.
  17. I'll wait and hope for something over in the west.
  18. It looks like you have very little hose to fuel filter connection?
  19. Lithium battery completely destroys plane just before take off - 176 people emergency evacuated EN Firefighting at Airports An Air Busan Airbus A321 caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea, on January 28, 2025, just before takeoff. The fire, which started in the rear section of the aircraft, caused significant damage to the fuselage but left the wings and engines intact. All 176 people on board, including 169 passengers and 7 crew members, were safely evacuated using emergency slides. Seven people sustained mostly minor injuries, with one person remaining hospitalized. Photos on the internet shows the top of the plane's fuselage completely burned off.
  20. This one is powered by the 912ULS but it's available with the injected version and the turbo. They've made some little mods to narrow the engine. The carburettors are swapped so that all linkages are inboard. There's no airbox, it has two conical air filters and water heated carburettor sockets. The radiator scoop on the bottom of the cowl has an actuator controlled by the pilot so that it can be opened and closed to control engine temperature. An audible warning alerts the pilot of excessive cylinder temperature. The kevlar canopy and cockpit is impressive too. It looks like the occupants should have a helmet and Hans device and they'd be fully protected.
  21. There are two, one in front and one in the rear. Andrew said there have been three fatal accidents in the Shark and in two of the three cases they should have had sufficient time to deploy the parachute but neither one did.
  22. Get ready Australia! The SHARK 600 arrives in January 2025 This is the actual plane that the young lady flew around the world. Andrew and Leanne say they've borrowed it and will pass it on to somebody else in Victoria who will look after the promotion. One has already sold here. I got the instructions... I just wasn't game to press the big red button. It is fancy Skippy, I'm just upset the Christmas has just gone and I don't have a birthday until November. I suffer from ducks disease but no need for cushions in this one, just press the button to set the seat height. It's very very nice ☺️ SHARK.AERO launches its Australian dealership with a Demonstration Tour. Book your demo flight and be one of the first to experience the Shark in Australia!
  23. I need a Shark like I sat in this morning, 912ULS with 150kts cruise speed and 150L tank. That would get me there and and there and back......
  24. I guess that would vary a lot depending on wind direction.
