Hi, I am passionate about aviation and historic aircraft, and have wanted to work in aircraft restoration for as long as I can remember.
I was intending to enrol on a course to attain my B1.2 maintenance licence, but after speaking to the course provider I’ve been informed a better route would be for me to get a job in GA to learn hands on, while doing my modules/coursework with the college – with the same end goal being my B1.2 licence.
I am a trained welder fabricator with a lot of experience working with sheet metal, as well as keen amateur machinist so am competent working on a lathe, have always maintained/worked on my own vehicles including several nut & bolt motorcycle restorations so know the ins and outs of internal combustion engines and have a good general knowledge of electronics.
I'm also passionate about vintage aviation/aviation in general, a very hard worker and eager to learn.
Does anybody know of the best route for me to find employment to help me move forward?
I'm located in Birmingham at the moment but am willing to move for work.
Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.
