    New Hobbs meter

Hi onetrack, I am interested in one of your Hobbs meters. I don't mean to be dissresectful, but you say they are new, and i was wondering if the discolouration of dial in picture is because they have been sitting for a while or is a shadow. The item i purchase is going into a new build and i need it to be spotless. My Number is 0402107927. Cheers Dave T.

  5. Hi Admin, Could you enlighten me as to how to delete a single photo from my photo album. Cheers Dave Tanner.

  6. Im with you on that BrendAn, Have transported aircraft from Perth W.A. to Gold Coast, Shepparton to Minden Qld, and from Lismore, NSW to Gold Coast all on my two flat top trailers. No damage. As you say, it is all in the packing and securing of the aircraft and wings. Cheers Dave
  7. Hi All. Our group operates three Streak Shadow aircraft which are tandem seat pusher types. All have a mechanical isolator fitted outside the rear bulkhead to positive supply from the battery. This is connected to a 1/2" carbon fibre tube running forward through the ceiling of both cockpits, enabling either pilot or passenger to isolate the electrical system with a simple twist of the shaft. Because these aircraft are pushers, all have a reversing camera in the cockpit, giving a clear view of motor and prop operation, both day and night. If nothing else this gives peace of mind being not only able to see any issues, but to do something about it. Cheers Dave.
  8. Dave was a fine pilot, and I trained with him a handful of years ago. His loss will be sadly missed. My condolences to his wife and family. Regards Dave Tanner.
  9. CFM (Cook Flying Machines) built the Shadow, Streak Shadow, and the Star Streak, commencing in 1983. The type is a world record holder in its class, including speed, altitude and distance, with three varients having flown from England to Australia. Easy to fly, reliable aircraft with an incredable safety record.

  17. Hi Guys, If I could add my small piece. I am no mathamatician, but, 20 years ago one of my aircraft tied down with 1/2 inch nylon rope from the top of each wing strutt anchored to two 12" square concrete blocks, 18"s long buried into the ground, pulled those two blocks clean out of the ground and proceeded to cartwheel down the strip 30 mtrs, crossing a fence and hitting a clump of trees, smashing four feet off one wing, breaking the nose leg, and one blade of the prop, all with the two blocks still attached. No one was on site during this event, so we dont have any idea of wind speed, but must have had a lot of force.
  18. Yes, one Yes, one of note would be Boonah. There is a rec flying school there, gliding club and numerous hangers. Nigel Arnot also has his facilities there.
