  1. They weren't on the same day about 3 weeks apart 2nd one was last Monday 5th. One from the Oaks the other from Wollongong both aircraft were over flying YMIG.
  2. Im a member of the SAAA if you go to their web site all the chapters are listed with contact details. just find one that is close to you get in touch with the President of that chapter & go to one of there meetings usually at a fellow chapter members house who is building a project all your questions will be answered.
  3. A Bi annual event??? Works for Avalon & Wanaka. "Just a thought" I did go this year spent 3 days camping. Had a ball flying there meeting people from all over Australia. The meals at the Terminus hotel were fantastic as was the atmosphere. The shuttle bus worked well. Food stalls were good. The forums were spot on came away from them with a bit more knowledge than what I started out with. Weather was perfect as was the flight home. The only thing missing was a pilot shop.
  4. Attached is the response from Ian at Camit. Hi Tony.docx Hi Tony.docx Hi Tony.docx
  5. I have sent an email to Ian with picture attached as soon as I get a reply I will post it for you.
  6. Yeah I have a 2200A in my Xair. I posted that video of the D motor as I was searching the net. Another possible alternative again just needs more flight hours to prove its concept.
  7. Im running a Jab 2200A has 54 hours on it now.
  8. He was just plan rude he would talk over Ian, Wouldn't allow Ian to finish answering his question. Question are an essential part of these gatherings but you don't have to be down right rude about. I went back to Camit display a couple of times during the course of the day my opinion I think Ian has a good product it just needs time in the air to prove its reliability.
  9. There were a lot of people wearing Hi Vis vests. Yes plane numbers were down for what ever reasons I had a good time meet a lot of people from all corners of the country, Had a good look around Temora's township thanks to the courtesy bus. I enjoyed myself. Beats the hell out of going to work!
  10. They had a stand at NATFLY the engine on display was a very neat & well built engine. Couple of noticeable changes they run a alternator, the base of the barrels are thicker. The was always a crowd at the stand every day I was there & the chap that ran the stand was well informed with his product & even being bombarded by one blokes smart arse questions. My personal opinion I think its a lot stronger engine than the one Jabiru is selling. But the only way to prove it is flight time to see how it will hold.
  11. Arrived back from Temora this afternoon I did not see a CASA Inspector the whole time I was there from Wednesday to Saturday. That doesn't mean they weren't there.
  12. Im not a RAA member but if I can get an excuse to get off work & go to a Flyin who ever is running it Im there. The only thing that will stop me flying is the weather. (then I'll drive)
  13. Ill be flying in don't mind paying for my passenger for a good day out.
  14. Plane is all packed & fuelled, ready to take off tomorrow morning. Weather looks good for the weekend so far.
  15. Anyone flying into Wings over Illawarra, this year you have to register your aircraft so that you will be emailed a ticket. Your passengers will have to pay to get in. If you don't register & your flying in you will have to pay as well. All this info is on there web. I guess they have realised how much more revenue will be made in doing this.
  16. Short clip of a flight down to YGLB the other week end.
  17. [medio=full]436[/medio]
  18. BLA82 If your at Temora for Natfly over Easter I plan on flying my Xair Hanuman there your welcome to have a look over it.
  19. If the weather is good will be flying in either Wednesday or Thursday.
  20. Get rid of Joyce & the bean counters that have been pouring Qantas profits into Jetstar. Put personal in charge that know how to run an airline.
  21. Well this forum use to be very informative. Now all it is just a slanging match to see who has the last word. Im over this shit!
  22. Sorry to hear what has happened to you. I know insurance isn't the cheapest thing around but having that public liability is peace of mind. The SAAA work in conjunction with QBE insurance for its members for cheaper policies. Does RAA Aus have anything on offer to its members? If not might be something the members could put to the board at the next AGM.

  24. Had a similar problem with my 2200. Replaced the pressure sender fixed the problem. Being a mechanical sender there is a little diaphragm inside this can foul up. I replaced mine with a solid state sender. cheers
  25. Hi Greg I own a Xair I just correct you mine does cruise at 80 knots no problem. 8o hp engine is all that the xair will fit. They now are fitting the rotax 912. Xair have been brought out & are in the proces of moving factories hence the delay in supply at the moment. I have flown a Skyranger & both aircraft fly very similar, I nearly brought a Skyranger back in 2004 off Jean Cloude' what made me choose the Xair over the Skyranger firstly $$$ Xair was cheaper & what was included in the Xair Kit was an optional extra in the Skyranger kit. 2nd was the fuel tank setup, which I believe has been changed now. Both excellent aircraft the build is very similar. I think if you are in the market to buy you have to fly both aircraft & work out what suits your needs best no matter what kit you purchase you will end up with a excellent aircraft. Hope this helps. Tony
