  2. t Thanks Phil its very satisfying I still haven't come down. Unfortantly I wont be flying it to Natfly this year, Im flying a RV 7A in on Friday.
  3. It sure does Pud!
  4. This afternoon my Xair Hanuman VH-VTW took to the air for its maiden flight all went well flight lasted for 30 min, flies beautiful weather was perfect all went well. Looking forward to getting it to NATFLY 2013. Cheers Tony
  5. Why dont you look at the Xair Hanuman has a bit more room in the cockpit good cruise 75- 80 kts can run a Jab 2200 or Rotax 912. Fun aircraft to fly is good on Xcountry flights.
  6. CASA web site has all the costing. VH registration is a one off payment.
  7. The Xair standard wing does not fold they can be removed. Xair Hanuman's wing folds.
  8. Im Spray Painter Panel Beater worked for my self for the last 19 years. Im currently setting up Tonkari Aviation which does a on site service of spray painting & surface protection & repairs on aircraft.
  9. I was going to fly my Xair, but phase 1 of the test hours wont be finished in time. So Im flying in a RV 7A for the day Friday or Saturday.
  10. All of the above is correct the builder can still carry out the maintance on that aircraft if you are the new owner. BUT if something went wrong he could be liable, All builders that I know including myself that have sold VH Experimental Built aircraft wont continue to do the maintance for that aircraft. The MPC course that the SAAA have only covers CASA regulation & paperwork you dont learn how to do tappet reseting or compression checks.
  11. Anybody no what had happened at Goulburn this morning involving a chipmonk?
  12. This type of thing only gives CASA more reason to tighten the grip on RAA.
  13. Flying dog try measuring the voltage straight from the battery this will tell you what current is being supplied to the battery. I know you said your voltage you measured was from your Dynon my EFIS gave a stable voltage as well. What I am looking at is the voltage regulator the Kubota ones that Jabiru supply some of them do play up. I had a simillar problem put ferrite all long power cables & radio PT cables used shielded wires on the installation still had the problem I checked the regulator while doing some ground testing & was showing some abnormal spikes which it never did before. Replace regulator problem was solved might be worth a try you never know. Cheers
  14. I would be talking to the hanger owner as to why the third aircraft has been moved in & see if you can work out a solution to the problem . I presume you are paying for hangerage there fore you should be able to disscus it with the owner. If that fails well then I would consider the outside arrangment.
  15. Talking about the Xair Standard (pod & boom) model or the Xair Hanuman same as my Avitar picture. The Hanuman is faster than the standard Xair same handling qualities alot easier to get in & out of the Hanuman is set up more for X country than the standard in saying that there are pilots out there with standard Xair 's that do some great X country trips. It all comes down to personal preferrence & how much coin you are willing to depart with. Cheers
  16. Just read the report I think the Authoritys will have a field day with this one, especially with question marks around the registration, Pilot training & Aircraft maintanace. Not a good look for RAAus.
  17. Your on the mark David that's how I've read & understand what the RPL is for.
  18. The letter sent out by the SAAA to its members out lined that basically the RPL would allow a Pilot to still fly their VH registered aircraft without a class 2 medical for those pilots who would not pass their medical. There still is a lot of detail to be worked out & we will know what that in tails when CASA releases the document.
  19. Glare is no problem setup is straight forward make sure the unit has its own seperate earth, with the tacho setup you may have to play around with that until you get a stable reading the MGL user group is very helpful. In the picture I attached I also have a startomaster single ASI as a back up if needed, that one instrument not only measures airspeed it has a dozen other functions as well. Its a great product at a affordable price.
  20. I have one in my Xair very happy with it. Just make sure when you wire it up that all wires are shielded so you dont get any RF interferance
  21. Spray Painter/ Panel Beater working more on aircraft now hold a PPL.
  22. Bob Tait PPL well set out easy to read.
  23. At the very least a Notam should of been present on the day. If not why was'nt there one, with something of this nature so close to an airfield. Questions would have to be asked who authorised the placement of the ferris wheel?
  24. The management of Qantas are bean counters all they are concerned with is the share price & profit $$$$$$
