  1. Flyerme, check out the plain english version as well - good value. Pud
  2. Yep Ian, it's the first place I go when needing weather for my flying. Pud
  3. I like it Ian, using a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and it is much easier to use then what I have experienced before. Pud
  4. As far as I am aware there are no new spare parts available in Australia - not sure about the Thruster business in the UK. When you say the old style brackets SAJ, do you mean the ones with a strip weld and that were prone to cracking along the sharp fold in the stainless steel? I took samples into a local stainless steel fabrication place here in Perth and had them make up a couple of brackets for my Thruster. I got them to fabricate the brackets as per the AN. They were not cheap but the result was perfect. $55 each inclusive of GST. Pud
  5. I think it's got a lot to do with the fact you can't see at a glance on the front screen, who is in there. You actually have to click on the link to go there to see who is in. Dunno why, but that's too hard:yikes: Pud Edit: Well just shows how much I pay attention - the front page does have a section on the right side that tells you who is in the chat room. I've never seen my name there!!
  6. Maj would never been found talking to himself - now that other guy in his head is a different matter........... Pud
  7. And, it's probably low fat cottage cheese at that. Pud
  8. Your opinion is sooooooo wrong - I never cut corners on my cheese sandwiches. Come to think of it, I never eat cheese sandwiches!! Pud
  9. He was right though - well sort of..... Your laptop had plenty of photos showing rag and tube, and that Auster sure is sweet mate. I could see you are a passionate man when it comes to aviation David. Pud
  10. So true David. Don't think you have stopped flying until at walking pace - well at least that's my motto. It was good to catch up with you at Jandakot last week and shoot the breeze for a couple of hours, with you and Riley. Thanks for buying the coffees too!! Pud
  11. Who asked for your opinion?? Pud PS. Just as well this IS the Aviation Laughter forum eh?
  12. No worries Yenn, I'll report back here on how I go. Pud
  13. That's your opinion and I don't agree with it!! In future be more mindful of how such posts can be hurtful to other people:ace: Just saying...... Pud
  14. Thanks for that Maj, I'm always interested in the nitty gritty of how people do stuff, and how it compares with what I do in the Thruster. I must confess that all my landings are wheelers, but I should really practise 3 pointers for the short strip capability or an out landing where you need to be touching down as slow as possible. I'll practise some 3 pointers next time I fly. One of the reasons I asked for your technique Maj is because a number of years ago I did some training in the Lightwing with Gareth Lloyd (Riley owns the Lightwing now) , and couldn't get the landings right, so I moved over to the Gazelle which is a piece of cake in comparison, having a nose wheel of course. I appreciate your post Maj. Pud
  15. What's your technique for landing the Lightwing Maj? Take me through it step by step please. Pud
  16. Yep, first hand!! Pud
  17. He does talk a lot of hot air:roflmao: Pud
  18. What a great initiative. We should do it here. Pud
  19. Now that would not be a good look... Could be funny to see as a bystander though:smile: Pud
  20. Tomo sums it up when he says it depends on what aircraft you will be flying. I'd be willing to hazard a guess that, if you were learning in a Thruster, you would be practising wheelers due to the 'unique' geometry of the wing incidence requiring a special technique to pull off consistent 3 pointers - it's all in the timing. Pud
  21. I think Kenneth More played Douglas Bader if I remember correctly Pud
  22. Welcome fernleigh, Glad to hear we have another Thruster driver amongst us, I also have a T500. You might like to mosey on over to the Thruster section of the forums here and check out the many threads on Thruster stuff. Cheers and keep us up to date on your progress. All the best for your solo, we will be expecting a full account of it. Pud
  23. Or the handbrake Pud
  24. I have a bias where I believe Rotax engines are better than Jabiru engines. But Rotax engines are not bullet proof. Check out a Rotax engine issue here http://www.rotax-owner.com/forum/3-4-stroke-technical-questions/3470-poor-manufacture-quality#forumbottom Pud
  25. No ones gonna sue you Hongie, the other guys were just referring to my thread here http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/mystery-mayday-call.38765/ is all. It's all good mate. Pud
