  1. The kit certainly does have Tasmanian connections - in fact, my information is that the Tasmanian interests have acquired the business. There is some indication here of something happening http://www.jdtmini-max.com/ A mate of mine is building an Aeromax as we speak. He has just completed fabricating the wing ribs, and we had the plans out for the fin and rudder last week. It's been too hot just lately here in the West for him to do much. The kit appears to be very well manufactured and presented, also well packed for transport. Pud
  2. Coupla weeks max from memory Kyle. Pud
  3. Orrrhhh come on OME, where's the wings mate? Pud

  5. Don't forget you can always take out a loan with a fixed interest rate if you are worried about what interest rates will do - just remember you will pay through the nose if you ever need to break the fixed rate loan. Pud
  6. We all seem to be too busy earning a living to make any money! I'm in that class too. Pud

  9. Thanks for the update Tomo. I spent a little time in St George a decade or 2 ago when my brother lived there. I remember it was rather wet then as well when we needed to load his furniture onto a trailer at a station called Lower Plains. My ute and trailer had to be towed through by tractor to be loaded at the house, then towed out again to where we were staying at another station called Ardrossan - you may know these places. I'm feeling for all those people at the moment, we can only imagine, given I come from a very dry part of the WA wheatbelt where I can only remember one flood event in 40+ years - and that only in a relatively small area. I hope everyone stays safe. Pud
  10. Make that over 100kgs will you dazza:wink: Pud
  11. I'm a long way removed from the incident Motz, so I don't know what happened or how you handled yourself. But I have a fair idea of what sort of person you are from the well thought out posts you contribute here, you obviously have respect from the people who know you, and certainly from me, as a fellow forumite. Given this, I'm sure you did all that was possible in the circumstances prevalent during this tragic event. I've found in my previous life as a volunteer ambulance officer, that after a stressful call out it was very beneficial to sit down with anyone involved, and if possible, someone who was not involved, and talk through the events. This will reinforce that what you did was all you could have done given the circumstances at the time. It will also give you the opportunity to talk about your feelings at the time with people who were involved - it's a great way to debrief. All the best Motz, to you and Cory, and the others involved. My sincere sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones. RIP Pud
  12. THE AUSTRALIAN APPROACH A young Aussie lad moved to London and went to Harrods looking for a job. The manager asked 'Do you have any sales experience?' The young man answered 'Yeah, I was a salesman back home in Dubbo.' The manager liked the Aussie so he gave him the job. His first day was challenging and busy, but he got through it. After the store was locked up, the manager came down and asked, 'OK, so how many sales did you make today?' The Aussie said 'One!' The manager groaned and continued, 'Just one? Our sales people average 20 or 30 sales a day. How much was the sale for?' '£124,237.64p.' The manager choked and exclaimed £124,237.64!! What the hell did you sell him?' 'Well, first I sold him a small fish hook, then a medium fish hook and then I sold him a new fishing rod.' 'Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down at the coast, so I told him he would need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him that twin-engine Power Cat.' 'Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to car sales and I sold him the 4 x4 The manager, incredulous, said, 'You mean to tell me...a guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a boat and a 4x4?' 'No, no, no... he came in here to buy a box of tampons for his lady friend and I said... 'Well, since your weekend's buggered mate, you might as well go fishing.' Pud

  14. Shite David, I've just spent 24 hours getting that jingle out of my head. now it's back stronger than ever - you old coot!! Looks like I'm gonna have to join all the Biggles fans in therapy. Pud
  15. Professional counselling Riley??? Not from listening to the great white-winged warrior surely - more likely needed by all those ol'buggars here who still have all those Biggles books from the early part of last century. Come to think of it - you would probably have a few eh Riley? Pud
  16. The skins you see in my avatar to the left here came from Wayne, and I selected them from the website. These colors, being strong colors looked just the same in reality as on the website. I suspect the lighter colors may have some difference in reproduction, but pretty close. Wayne is very good at giving you the info on what you can expect once you talk to him. Pud
  17. Magnificent!! Thanks rgmwa Pud

  22. Well, after relating my story to the BIL, here's his answer to my problem Works for me... Just!! Pud
  23. Well its a problem let me tell you!! Happened to me on my nav test, but luckily I didn't have a guts ache, just a full bladder from consuming one cup of coffee too many. I flew to the nearest airstrip and was very glad to get out of the aircraft. Dunno what you do where there is no strip within a reasonable time span. All you can do is plan well before hand, and not go if you think there may be a problem. Above all though... Fly the bloody aircraft lest you dumb your load as you fall out of the sky!!!! Pud
  24. Hehehe. Yeah there were a lot of flies around that day, especially at Wirraway where the bush flies nearly carried us away. Pud
