    It's been a while since I've posted here and this one may be the last in the saga, seeing as how this video shows the ferry of T500 Gaygirl from Northam to Wirraway Farm at North Gabbin, her new home. I haven't bothered to include a music soundtrack here as some people like to hear the sound of the engine. If you don't, just turn the sound down and play appropriate music:smile: Thanks for everyone's support in this journey - it's been fantastic. Pud

    Well I'd like to go flying every couple of weeks but realistically, every 4 weeks will probably be achievable once the weather improves. Those shakes are a common symptom of 'low altitude' sickness, which has only one cure - go flying. Pud

    I wonder about that if the ongoing maintenance costs and power outages caused by storms was taken into account - not to mention fires such as the devastating bushfire at Toodyay recently, caused by power lines overhead. Certainly the initial cost would be more expensive. For most of my working life I lived in a country area where the power was delivered overhead. We had regular power outages, especially during the storm seasons. Now I live in the city with underground power reticulation, and only rarely see power out events. I have a brother who works for the WA state run electrical supplier, and he is always out at storm time - he lives in Port Hedland so a busy time at this time of the year being cyclone season. He'll be gearing up right now for when Iggy hits. Pud

    I sourced my harnesses from a place at Jandakot Airport where I told the guy the harnesses did not have to be certified as they were for an 'off road' vehicle. He was happy with that, and I was happy with the end result. Pud

    I like your idea Ian, achieving it is the big question, as you have found out!! What I envisage and would use, would include such examples as this http://www.theultralightplace.com/sparkplugs.htm and this http://www.rotax-owner.com/ and this http://www.ultralightnews.ca/ and for something different this http://wind.willyweather.com.au/wa/wheatbelt/gabbin.html and something like the articles (as an example) by Mike Stratman from California Power Systems called "The Care and Feeding of the Rotax Motor". I suspect this is just a small example of what you would want in your ultimate dream. My suggestions are largely about the Rotax engine, by necessity this is the knowledge I have been chasing, now multiply that by all the major areas in recreational aviation that people will have a need for knowledge, then you will have a web based resource!! Can you do it? What ever happens Ian, my favourite section will be the forums, because of the interaction between all players. Pud

    Brings up the question about 'certified' harnesses or will vehicle ones do? There is a large cost difference between the aviation approved harnesses and the ones used in vehicles, such as racing buggy harnesses. Pud

    No little pudles, or big ones for that matter, anywhere in Victoria. Gotta say though that I had a great time whilst living in Myrtleford for about 10 months in 73-4. Worked for one of the local builders as a carpenter, and had a ball. Even got engaged whilst I was there - not to the Milawa chich though:wink: Pud

    Well after all the shenanigans in the posts above I thought I'd better check out the rooster video. I like it, especially the proud head sitting way out in front. I liked the short hops down the airstrip to check out handling. Pud

    Don't forget the Luscombe is a tail wheel aircraft so the bounce can set up a porposing event with each subsequent 'arrival' being more severe then the preceeding one. Could be best to go around in such a situation - it certainly is in a Thruster as I can attest to!!! Pud
