  1. When is the Serpentine Fly-in Downunder? Pud
  2. See planet47's post number 7 above. Pud
  3. I fly a Thruster, so 500' circuits. My understanding is that you must, no matter what your cruise speed, not change course after take off until you reach 500' AGL. I fly all legs at 500' above airfield level until turning onto final, then start the descent down final. In less 'draggy' aircraft than the Thruster, descent may be started turning onto base. Pud
  4. I haven't heard anything about a 2013 state flyin for WA yet. Anyone have any information? I assume it will be on again during the long weekend end of September. Just doing some forward planning:coffee: Pud
  5. It's always beautiful weather in Deeral Frank! Hope you are keeping your feet dry, and more importantly, keeping your Drifter dry. All the best. Pud
  6. Buggared if I know Hongie! Pud
  7. Andy....... you been drinking? Pud
  8. That's another example of why you are a good airman Maj:thumb up: A good example for all to follow. Well done. Regards, Pud
  9. The base stock and size seems to be the same for both. Also has a very small identical number printed on the reverse side of both my cards - 9033-06/2011 whatever that means. Pud
  10. I think you are on to it Nev. Or could it be a slightly out of balance prop? Pud
  11. Congrats Tim, Saw you on TV last night. Pud
  12. I'm only a lowly Thruster flyer, so what would I know, but looking at the video I see the aircraft looking like it has an extreme rear CoG - uncontrollable probably, which bears out the premise of cargo shifting rearward. Why then after the stall does it not drop tail first? By the time it impacts the ground the nose is well down. Pud
  13. How do I get that sound as a ringtone? Pud
  14. Thanks Exadios, I found that most interesting. I was interested in the RASP weather software; I became aware of this software through a friend of mine who flys gliders from Beverley. I have started to use the web based service just to get a feel for what conditions will be like where I fly my Thruster, since it is hangared 3.5 hours away. The program has been most useful although I'm still learning how to interpret the charts. Cheers, Pud
  15. Thanks for posting the video Mark. Nice little sideslip there on final, and a great landing. Pud
  16. Good to see you are as feisty as ever farri:wave: I'm gonna have to post up some more Thruster videos to stave off the Drifter competition I think - what else ya got biggles? I'm off to the hangar on Friday so I'll take the video camera with me. I hope all is well with you and Fran. Pud
  17. Noooo!!! What a turncoat, fraternising with the bloody mexicans. About time he (and you) ventured to the best (West) part of the continent I reckon. Come and get some dust in your eyes:wink: Pud
  18. Hmmm, strangely familiar, or maybe not so strange! It's a great part of the world for flying eh Biggles. And what a way to see it; in a Drifter. Good stuff and thanks for posting. It brings back memories of the back of that crusty ol' blokes head:roflmao: Pud
  19. I certainly wouldn't hire him to push a wheelbarrow - there'd be nothing in it by the time he got to the work face!!! Pud
  20. I can't vote for you Michael, but thank you for your career summary. You sound like the type of person who would be very beneficial to have on the RAAus Board. Pud

Tell them it's for an off road vehicle. Pud

    Skins

Any decent sailmaker, such as Taskers' should be able to make you a set of skins, especially if you have the old skins for a pattern. I know Taskers in Western Australia can do them. Pud
  23. Too true Mark! I thought about it for some time before posting.... And still got it wrong. Oh well......... Pud
  24. Dunno if I read your post correctly Mark, but 110mph is about 60kts I think - you can go nowhere real fast at 55-60kts, as I can confirm in the Thruster:smile: Pud
  25. Wayne had a very good online facility for designing the colours for your new wing skins. It is still available here http://xsymetrix.com.au/wingskin/ie5/index.html?dhtmlActivation=inplace See what you think. ausadvance, my reply assumed Taskers in WA. Pud
