Thank you again for the information Tony. My concern was bought about if using a sealed strip rather then grass and how the tires would handle that, hitting the deck at around 40-50 knots as these mower/ATV tires are not speed rated. Cheers Alan
Hi Tony, What ply/speed rating and weight [of the tires] would comply with the factory spec's so as to maintain its legal trainer rego.[TST] Thank you Alan

Hi, I'm very interestedin the new modifiedwing front sparattach bracket as mentionedin the latest TOSG bulletin which reduces the angle of incidence to about 4deg.What's the lasted on this. Cheers Thruster87
Just thought I mention the great experience of thermal lift yesterday at the Oaks during training.Flying circuit ht 1900ft we were getting 300ft + lift with no no power and we glided and soared for about 5min maintaining 1900ft.The fun part was turning for base andthe VIS stayed on 0 with no power, then having to side slip all the way to the threshold.I put this thread in here as the A/C was a Lightwing 582 Cheers :)
Hi, Ended up getting the holder + lanyard from a Qantas captainwhois also a Hars member [seems a lot of military /commercial people have spares, just ask them] Cheers
Received my asic card [RAAus] but NO card holder or lanyard like the ones people getwhen ordered via CASA.Is this an omission? or do we have to buy our own? Cheers Thruster87
The shot to shot times of the canon S3 nearly match those of the 350d
in the reviews. Will have to see how it actually performs in the real
world Cheers Alan
Thanks Paul. With all the pics of guess the air field,I thought I would
ask the question.I now have decided on the Canon S3 as it also has
video record and the 12x zoom + IS.The S3+ 2GB card for around $700.00
compares well to a similar setup, Canon 350d DSLR + 70-200 f2.8 zoom
lens would cost $2000.00. Cheers
For point and shoot, what sort of aerial photography camera would be
suitable? At the moment I'm looking at the Canon S3 Any recommendations
from the Pros out there Cheers

Thanks Tony. Has anyone made them the full length /width so that the control/stab surfaces are foil shaped and all you do is add the outer skin [fabric] . Something like a cessna 150 ?
Cheers Alan
The tail unit formers mod for the vertical stab. and rudder should be what thickness/length and approx shape [two halves fastened together?]
Cheers Alan
Just. The part about the double spring, are there any drawings or spec's for this setup and does anyone sell them or is it a custom job.As I'm rebuilding my TST I'm keen to do all the mods or updates as possible [which my funds allow]
Cheers Alan
The few thrusters that I've seen all had different tailwheel setups. They ranged from shopping cart trolley wheels to pneumatic chrome moly tubing home made jobs. Tony what is an acceptable standard or updated/modified version of the type/weight tailwheel assembly which in your opinnion may be used.
Cheers Alan
