  1. Disperse I dunno, it gets my goolies when people say something about a crime or something in "WESTERN SYDNEY" and it's at somewhere like bloody Ashfield or something. But then have flown with heaps of guys who think that after Dubbo, Perth is only a short hop away as that is generally the extent of their nav experience. One mate who shall remain un-named lives in the leafier parts of Sydney's Northern Burbs and couldn't believe how far out it was to my place at Penrith at the time.
  2. That thing's often at Belmont in NSW I'm sure of it!
  3. Just out of curiosity will there be two winners this month due to the lack of one last month?
  4. It's a real shame, anyone from PPRuNe from a few years ago will know the Pilot who used to go under the name of JJ, a shame. Steve Nott was the owner of GAM and anyone who's seen an Aero Commander around the traps it's a good bet he had something to do with it at some stage. Very sad news.
  5. Not a Trojan. I'm not sure I'll be participating in this months, there were quite a few outstanding photographs last month (Mine excluded) I've become somewhat disillusioned as to what qualifies. BTW Munch a Trojan has Tricycle u/c and is not from what I remember a t/dragger.
  6. I was rummaging through old Australian Aviation magazines and found ads for a "kasperwing" anyone got one or seen one recently???
  7. blackhawk, She looks the good but whats she gonna cost?!!
  8. Decca, and Darren, thanks guys, the old man was stoked to see the response, he's a real photography nut and thinks its not bad considering it was with his cheapo digital.
  9. Ian that is my point, it sends the wrong message, plain and simple. Despite this being a hobby/sport and great fun there should be no compromise on safety.
  10. Teenie 2, I don't know you from a bar of soap but if you DON'T use some simple checks like that I would prefer people like YOU move away from aviation. Doesn't matter whether it's a Trike, Thruster, Gulfstream or a B777 I bet SOMEONE does some simple checks like that on board. I know when flying fixed U/C aircraft I still use things like "Undercarriage down check three greens", should I move away from aviation? It is attitudes like yours that are dangerous, not people who do check things like sufficient fuel, windsock & traffic, how many people do you know have run out of gas on final or landed on the wrong runway by not double or triple checking the sock or how many people have had near misses with other aircraft in the circuit because of a lack of orientation? I know of a number of cases in which aircraft have had collisions on final or turning final due to not being aware of your surrounds outside the piano keys.
  11. And lastly my own entry, I used a slower shutter speed to get the blurred effect I want while my best mate and to be best man at my wedding taxied our PA31-350 VH-MKK to the Air BP bowser in Wagga while we waited for the local AAE bloke to turn up before we headed home to SY on a late Friday Arvo Via CTM.
  12. Another on behalf of the brother, Pearl Aviation VH PSM Citation II and GAM VH UJL Shrike Commander on the Apron in Scone. Looks like they're playing chicken!
  13. This time a submission on behalf of my brother, who is becoming quite the snapper! BTW I already have AF subscription so if his pic's win he gets it, he is aware and has allowed permission to upload for him. He took this C310R at CG earlier this yr, this is a nice machine seen it around BK a few times before.
  14. I'm submitting this one on behalf of my old man who took this en-route to Cairns on a Virgin Blue flight a year or so ago.;)
  15. Cant answer but it means they both have the same useable weight margin of 210 KG's...
  16. Micgrace I actually work for the Australian Autodesk Distributor so box one is ticked, problem is I don't actually use it or have enough knowledge to use it properly without engaging in a full blown design course, which would probably be the best thing to do.
  17. Out at Castlereagh/Londonderry there are some very long flat straight roads that might work for you?
  18. If it's PBI or BPI it used to be owned by Australia By Air/Skymaster Air Services (Ian Smith), one of the two is in Scone at the moment for SIDS I think? And I think BPI is now in Essendon. Hey Zedman any trikes up there??
  19. Just to keep the thread "alive and kicking" I am also looking at possible designs. Does anyone know of any pc programs you could plug in the designs and computer generate some sorts of data?? Despite actually watching Ron Bertram of the AOPA go in in a Lancair I'd love to look at smaller slightly less twitchy versions of Lancair style a/c...
  20. Welcome! Is that 310 BPI or PBI??? One of my best mates used to fly for Australia By Air that used to go up there... Hey Zedman what a/c types are hangared up there these days?
  21. Hi Troy, I'm out near Penrith so not far from you. I started in GA, and still love getting behind the stick of something with two eggbeaters every now and then if I can scheme a seat on one but I'm finding I can't justify spending $200 an hour to hire a Warrior or C172 to keep my GA licence current and go places I can get to quicker in or at least cheaper in the same time in newer equipment via RA aircraft. RA provides a VERY affordable alternative, do some hours but rest assured I'm sure when you look at it if you decide to buy something down the track it won't send you broke.
  22. I think Kerry Packer said something like any company is a good company as long as it has no debt, in KP's memorial TV program they interviewed Alan Bond about that qoute and asked if he thought KP was right, his answer was classic, "On that occasion yes, and in all my businesses now we have no debt"...
  23. Rod runs the flying school at YKAT, nice bloke I think he used to run the flying school at YHOX that had all the Sundowners and Skippers etc. I was going to send my younger brother up there to do his training but I thought "hmm not nice country if something goes wrong"...
  24. Thanks Chris will give him a bell. Darren, hopefully for my sake they are! ;-)
  25. Hi Chris, Got them :-) Is there a list of L2 people somewhere? I need one near Orange.
