    Hi all, I am looking to replace the prop on my Texan. Does GT have an Australian dealer or am I better off dealing direct with Italy?

    Hi Kyle, I've flown in there a couple of times. A bit of a mixture of gravel/grass 1nm north of Agnes. 15/33. Cost me $20 to park the plane for the weekend. Call Les Woodall 0428 661434. Not sure what the situation is now. I flew in there before the Cessna incident on the beach...last year?

    Just a quickie....just suppose theoretically you are renting one space at a dual space hangar owned by local council at your local aerodrome. Is the onus on you to pay for the hangarkeepers insurance or the owner of the hangar?

    They may have the same opinion as BMA.......if you're not a Qantas captain then you're a hazard....gives one a fair dose of the irates...

    Looking at new altimeters. Can anyone tell me please the difference between" sensitive" and "insensitive" and what type do we normally use or more frequently used?

    The airsevices website has a pilot briefing service that has all the current notams for the area your flying in/through. Free service, just need to create a username and password.

    Spoke to John from the school at Emerald this morning. A Vari-eze flew up from Warwick yesterday to take a prospective buyer for a flight. Haven't heard from them.

    On the news this morning: Five helicopters will join the search for an ultralight plane carrying two men, which failed to return to a central Queensland airport. An Australian Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (AusSAR) spokeswoman says the plane left Emerald airport at 3pm (AEST) on Wednesday. The alarm was raised around 6.30pm (AEST) and a search conducted using night vision goggles and infrared equipment. "It was a pre-sale familiarisation flight," the spokeswoman told AAP on Thursday. "We are coordinating a search with five helicopters. "We are hoping a more intense daylight search may find something."

    The sport cruiser was coming out with the piper name on it as "the piper Lsa" but due to corporate disagreements is now once again the aerosport sportcruiser and piper have nothing more to do with it. Still a good plane but Piper's agenda was at odds with the manufacturer's.

    Just wondering where everyone gets their tyres from. I'm looking for 15'x6.00-6 tyres but getting nowhere. Any help appreciated.

    Hi Everyone, does anyone have a contact number for the Canungra airstrip. The number in the magazines are for skyflyte so are obsolete. Also does anyone fly out of Gleneagle? I believe it's a private strip but since it's only 2 minutes up the road from Beaudesert where the rest of the family live it would be an excellent place to stop when I visit. Thanks in advance.

    Just be careful with the airline sickbags as after about 10 mins they go all soggy and the bum falls out of them (another story) so have a good plastic bag handy!

    It's our responsibility to ensure that our licence is current as well as aircraft regos etc. Same goes with ERSA's and charts. Who do you expect to tell you when these need replacing? WE are responsible for ourselves as individuals, no-one else. Period.

    Hi Gibbo, Weather here in Clermont (100k's NW of Emerald) is fine, no cloud with slight winds and is forecast to be the same for the next few days.(that's what they say!!) Cheers, Phil

    I thought most of the airports under council control were handed to them from the government with a wad of funds to manage on the proviso that they were NOT to be sold. Does council have the right or the power to sell them?! Sounds like what's happening with the Whitsunday airport saga,where developers are using the argument that to not sell the airport will hurt tourism. Supreme court declared that the council's decision to sell it was unenforceable as the land was state government owned. Perhaps we may have to start jerking a little further up the chain? Didn't that make the developers cranky!!
