Was told yesterday of 2....3 Rotax 914's based caboolture Q, all having cracks in blocks. Might pay any folks here to closely inspect their engines. Seems extremely strange, being those 4bangers are regarded as near on bullit proof.

Carby,s etc, have served us well for umpteen yrs, why go and complicate things. "EFI" was in part, to lessen pollution, to increase power etc, we are bound by regulated max weights, and the 80.........120 hp most use, does the job just dandy. My gyro is "EFI" , prob is, the slightest hiccup, is a nightmare to trace.....and folks can get a head shake from workshops because it,s an aeroplane install, they want nothing to do with it. Carby,s .....easy as. As to "limp home mode" if the ecu is not happy with a sensor input, limp home is about 20% power......at best. Yet to see aviation get you home on 20% avail power. Keep it simple is my preferred.

Thought his background was aero maintenance over many types, " hearsay" coming from pros and cons, along with " how the engines should be built" by guys that have "modded" their installs, and then proven success, all of this and more, as background, was in my view a good "base" to engage Ross. Sorry Ross, I,ll get back under me rock.....

Thanks pal, good info, I was chasing "a local" to pop their head out the window, and give a " gut feel" as to where the current conditions MIGHT be in the forthcoming week, My area....gut feel, odd shower, winds 10.....15, scattered clouds, can expect improving next few days. Oh........ No strips closed. ( spoze that makes me a prophet.)

Ok.....weather wise, how's Nebo, Rolleston, Dingo, kingaroy, looking for next week.....any folks here in that general areas. ( rains going etc, strips ok, ?? ) weather reports show bucket loads of water last several days all over the place.

I find if you overdo the application, you can get that misting effect. Found that after applying it, spray clean water on, then quickly shamois the screen off (before the water dries ), seems to work.?? Thanks for the tip, m/cycle plexus, will chase some up...

Interesting question, Rang a CFI, he rekins it would be ok, but he,s chasing up more info. He commented that it,s ok to fold up, cut up charts to a more manageable size, some folks then laminate the smaller pages, so it would be ok to photocopy your screen shots, and print off in A4 size pages ( exact copies of a legit WAC/ VNC chart etc ) Let,s see.....

Thanks, any "guide" to possible weather beyond the 7 days will help decision making for extended trips. Be a bummer to head off this week, with good weather for the next 7 days, but then turns to shyte the following week or so. Some may say it,s all part of the fun......grounded with rubbish weather, they might, but I don,t. ( I get hangovers from too much liquid fun )

Chasing a good site to get a long range ( 14 day ) expected weather forecast / prediction, The best I can get is 7 days. Help appreciated.....Russ.
