  1. The fuselage just leaving for the Spray painters, this was 3 weeks ago and was told it should be ready to pick up tomorrow so pretty excited. It's been a painful run dealing with the Spray painters as it will take longer to get it painted that it took me to build it to this stage. Maybe I just need to take a chill pill I have the UlS Rotax arriving next week and wondering what props people are running in the Savannah's ? I have inquired about the Bolly In-flight adjustable prop 70 inch= better climb or the 66 inch Bolly with better cruise speed
  2. Welcome Lyndon and good luck with the build. The Savannah is a nice kit to build and with plenty of happy Savannah flyers getting around on here with advice on hand if needed I'm sure.
  3. I said the same thing Howard, what a load of rubbish but the chap swore black & blue that this was the case but think i may have jump the gun in posting this, as it's just what someone has said with no backing proof that I've seen. Sorry for the scare fella's but nothing surprises me anymore in this country.
  4. I have just heard that Casa is bringing in that any aircraft older than 5 years will not be allow to fly into Bankstown and Archerfield. I hope this is not true and maybe someone else knows something about this madness.
  5. The old farmer pretty well sums it up.
  6. Have been on this site for quite a few years even though I'm a little on the quiet side and having never met the man but have always enjoyed his contributions to this great site, and what people say about Pud shows he was of good character and a Gentleman. Maybe I'll meet you in the blues skies one day mate. RIP
  7. Beautiful looking Aircraft and the excitement of it all and Congratulations.
  8. Flew up and had a great day but when the clouds start looking dark we hightail it out back to Lismore but well done to the Watts bridge crew for a great day.
  9. I don't have a Medical problem and and am pretty fit but my wife is pretty head strong when it comes to me telling her how things should be done, I rather someone else have that headache.
  10. My wife is coming around to the idea of doing some country trips with me when I get the Savannah built, I mention to her it would be a good idea maybe doing a bit of flying with an instructor to just get the basic's idea of flying in case I become incapacitated. She seem to go along with that and seem to think that would be a good idea.
  11. I'll be interested in what you think of the end result Mark and if you found it worth while doing the mod. I wonder why the ICP muffler is smaller than the Rotax muffler and I'm guessing to fit inside the cowl ? I haven't got up to that stage of my built yet and am just curious.
  12. I would be interested in seeing your Savannah when you have it fitted out with the chute Mark. and how it all goes in and fitted. I'm hoping to do some travelling with the Missus when I get my Savannah finish but she not that keen on flying, but she likes the idea of the Chute and will do some cross country trips with me if fitted. On saying that I took her for a fly from Lismore in search of whales and then we landed at Evanshead, we walk into town and had lunch and a stroll along the beach before flying back home. She thought that as pretty cool and maybe I just need to do some more short trips to get her comfortable with it all. But I still be interested in seeing how it all goes together and what's involve in doing so.

  16. Welcome Henry and it's always interesting in seeing how other countries do things and operate and seeing photos of their country, planes etc.

  18. Hi Skee, All wheels are identical and I think it a case of having the extended luggage and no chute or if you have the chute you have to do away with the extended luggage compartment. I was playing with he idea of putting a chute in but decided on the extended luggage. If i decided to put a chute in at a later date then I guess I'll have to put a false wall in.

  20. Wings painted and tail plane being done next week then onto the fuselage, can't wait to start putting it together Decided against doing it myself and got professional spraypainters that were recommended to me doing the job but it's a slow process with them having plenty of work on.

  22. Hi Leslie and welcome to the forum. I also fly a J230 and also reckon it's an awesome aircraft.
  23. G'day Tee and like your photos, bugger on the rabbit hole. I get excited too when I'm building my Savannah but I don't quite get that psychical reaction.
  24. Looks like your going alone. Hope your good company and like the sound of your own voice.
  25. Always good to see fresh ideas and ingenuity and yea way too pricey but would love to take it for a fly.
