  1. Yea Steve, I am going glass instrument but with a few standard instruments for back-up. I was just wondering on the throttle set-up they have given me and whether it will work on the iS and what other changes need to be made. I'm a little blind with all this as lacking experience with building planes and never really had anything to do with Rotax's, so trying to work it out as I go.
  2. I'm going to get the injected 912 iS sport and was wondering if you can use the existing throttle set-up which is photo 69 which is for the ULS I think or do you need to change the set-up and how to go about it also the other parts that come for the motor like oil cooler etc again guessing useless for the injected.. I have been told that I will need to modified the cowling. Thanks in advance.
  3. Tried to upload more photo's but came up that they were to big to load mmm
  4. Some more pics on the progress.
  5. Thanks for the offer Alf, I landed at Innamincka once on the way to Marree and love the busy little town and have always wanted to go back with more time to spare for a better look around.
  6. Thanks for the info Rich but was already onto it and have got the new type of fuel line but again thanks It seems that checking a youtube clip to check if I had things right is to follow other peoples mistakes..
  7. Many thanks Rick and will change it tomorrow. Bloody glad I only had clecos holding the parts together.
  8. Here's a better photo just to clarify that I have got it arse about?
  9. Thanks for the keen eye Rick and yea the golden glow looks pretty cool, I do have the sides going inside sitting on top of the floor if that's what you mean. I youtube building ICP Savannah S which has the sides doing the same as mine so just sorta figure they would have it right. I can easy change it as nothing pop-riveted yet.
  10. Problem solved, apparently there is an adapter plate:smile:.
  11. Up to now it has been fairly smooth sailing but some of the bits in fitting in the cabin floor has really started to do my head in as they have change some bits and guessing for the adjustable seats but haven't update the manual, also some bits don't match existing hole etc. Maybe someone can shed some light for me. The 2 angle bit and am guessing for the flaps is suppose to have the up&down hole on the crossmember in between the 2 angular instead of to the side, it's like the holes have been put in the wrong place
  12. Here's a few more photos
  13. Love the photo's and there seems to be a couple of ring-in's planes but awesome all round. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Look forward to more in a awesome part of the country Russ. Have always wanted to do a trip up north.
  15. Second wing nearly finish and has since been riveted up.
  16. Thanks Kyle and yes powering along but at the expense of ignoring everyone and work and soon will have to give the project a break and concentrate on those around me and work. Yea Steve nothing like building in the comfort of the house
  17. Alodine weight is minimal and the parts are only in the solution for 15mins, piece of mind i guess.
  18. Hello all, I thought I would share some photos of the Savannah S I'm building after recently picking up from Brisbane which nearly cost me a divorce but she has come around to the idea and is showing an interest in the building. Haven't told the her it doesn't come with a motor so Round 2 could be on the cards. On first opening the crate and seeing all those bits and pieces I felt quite overwhelmed ans wonder what I got myself into. A friend reckon mended Alodine all the parts to guard against corrosion and luckily I had a mate who was in the power coating and Alodining business and was allow to come in to dip all the parts which was a big job in itself. The first Photo is Alan fry giving me a hand with the dipping process.
  19. Awesome day and good to see the amount of planes flying in and will definitely be flying up to the next one again.
  20. I wonder how many engine failures was due to poor maintenance and lack of understanding and not following the proper instructed maintenance guidelines?
  21. Haha good one Steve, pity we didn't have a little more of this good nature sense of humour in our political correct path we've been led down. Think my Missus would like a new tool which makes screwing a pleasure, maybe I should invest in a can of WD 40.
  22. Well I had a cackle and sometimes you gotta see the funny side of things in our increasingly serious world. while not condoning this, maybe the police need to relax a little sometimes instead of trying to book everyone for anything they can and get everyone against them. I remember reading and sure some would have read this too many years ago about a chap who flew into town for a beer. he had a lot more to drink than he had intended and getting quite drunk, the publican said no way he was letting him fly home, so the farmer drove the plane 20kms down the road to home.
  23. I hear what your saying Phil and I'm still living in hope, Maybe down the track after taking her on a few cross country trips she'll come around and play with the stick. But on a more serious note my wife said the Royal couple don't fly together. My response is that we drive together. Sometimes its just not their thing. In the 5yrs I have been flying she only been up twice and thats only cause I keep taking her girlfriends up and she gets a little jealous:smile: but down the track she is prepare to to a couple of cross country flights with me so fingers cross.
  24. Reg did mention it Steve but I didn't show a lot of interested at the time. Will go up when time permits and have a look, also the missus has been wanting to go up Brisbane for a few nights get away so if that happens I will get in touch with the Caboolture mob.
  25. Live in Lismore so a trip up could be on the cards and thanks again. If coming up I will get in touch with you.
