  1. Also if it's not certified doesn't mean you can't fly over built up areas?
  2. It's going to be interesting what recommendations ATSB comes up with. I used to have one radio and I could only listen to 1 frequency. Used to be difficult choosing which freq I should listen to inbound to Wedderburn from the west, I would stay on the step and listen to area since they tend to give traffic alerts but not always. Now I changed to the trig and can monitor another frequency. Still a difficult area to transit with inbound aircraft, gliders and local traffic.
  3. I was with 3 other aircraft from Wedderburn coming from the Kiama to Mittagong then we were going to go to The Oaks and back to Wedderburn but I got the guys to go direct to Wedderburn, too rough for having fun. We landed at 12 so felt sort of lucky since we would have arrived about that time with 4 aircraft. We would have been minimum 3000 possible 4500.
  4. Because unless it's a nice High Pressure system, they do break it up but that gets fun since you have to find the places they are talking about for the boundries and times for the different QNH.
  5. I like my Dynon as well. I'm very sure there is a yaw dampner there but for me, don't need the extra weight for the minimal use.
  6. In the Sydney region we are going to loose a lot of airspace due to the new Western Sydney Airport and also loosing Ballina. There may be a proposal for different airspace for Shellharbour as well. It's getting difficult and dangerous for the diversions we have to do to avoid the airspace.
  7. That is so much fun, I've done it a few times, must be plenty of people practicing landings and go arounds. Haven't seen the tower yet. Wonder if the workers get sick of us.
  8. Lots of traffic. Only photo are 5 parked planes and a lovely breakfast.
  9. A group of us went to Cessnock yesterday and it was magic. I thought the August westerlies had come early but a reprieve for this week.
  10. Thanks for the info. Since I have a Dynon Skyview and already have a Microair transponder, I was tempted by the upgrade. After much thought I decided to stick with Dynon, after your post I feel better about my decision. I now have a spare transponder I'll sell if I can.
  11. A controller gave a talk at our airfield and had a handout. I looked for it but it could be at the airfield. I'll look this weekend.
  12. You doing it on a weekend? Tower is usually closed
  13. While I agree with that, not every field requires a radio like Wedderburn. I like the extra tool, I cannot believe how many aircraft that come towards me seen on the iPad and I still can't see them. Gets me prepared and I'm not just talking about in the vicinity of an airport.
  14. Sorrym trying to understand what you said. Can you elaborate please.
  15. I decided I'm getting one built in. I have a skyecho, was at Parkes on the weekend. I thought I turned it off after landing. Anyway, a normal USB-C cable wouldn't charge it in flight, only the one supplied which I didn't have with me. For the extra expense, I don't want to be fiddling. It's going to be for the long term since I expect rule changes to be made in the Sydney Basin and eventually an ADSB requirement.
  16. The SkyEcho is out and in
  17. I think you'll find it's only ADSB-In
  18. Doesn't look used. Very empty.
  19. That was windy, well done.
  20. That did go smooth, very nice.
  21. Why do you need to denigrade someone? There could have been a reason we may never know like some sort of distraction or event in the cockpit or the passenger.
  22. Thanks, since flying Ultralights I don't have time to fly RC anymore which is a pitty because I loved it. I love watching your videos.
  23. The aircraft looks very unstable, maybe that was the wind. I could see the direction finder but not the distance to you in the HUD, where was that?
