  1. Also, the guy I used detected leaks and does the ASI as well.
  2. It's great seeing rc flying to scale. Also would love to see those other aircraft flying.
  3. I guess the only thing it would be good for is ADSB IN but... you hope if they use OUT CASA might be helpful but I suspect they aren't geared to help.
  4. I drained the tanks in my 230D by removing the fuel hose from the mechanical fuel pump and draining into fuel cans and used the electric fuel pump to speed things up. My left wing emptied first then the right wing. During long flights one wing always drains faster than the other. Talking to other jab people they have the same issue. Wish we had a fuel slector sometimes.
  5. I tried looking for the regs on transporting fuel, like jerry cans in a car and couldn't find them. Can someone send the links for NSW please.
  6. AFAIK he's not on any forums or facebook. He did explain in good detail. The main part was he didn't think he could get over the tree so he aimed between them towards the base of the trunks so the wings would take the energy. Would have worked if the front wheel didn't catch on the scrub. As for the turn back, that's the problem with partial EFAT, John knows the plane and so close to pulling it off. Imagine if he had 5 more seconds of power. What we can learn is maybe don't trust partial engine failures low to the ground. I've left the carb heat on and you defintely feel it but I didn't put it into a paddock, I worked it out pretty quickly. It's hard to judge when your not there.
  7. Broken nose and left thumb. Some bruises elsewhere but in good spirits. Looking at the plane, I'm so amazed that was all.
  8. If you listen to his video he said the were 1500ft, that is not agl so more likely 600ft agl
  9. Saw John yesterday. They started loosing power very early on the upwind leg after a touch and go. He took over and managed to get the plane completly around lined up for the runway and the engine quit. 2 more trees to go, to much energy to put it down straight away and he aimed for the base and between the trees and flippped when the nose wheel hit scrub. I don't usually like commenting like this but there is a lot of speculaion.
  10. Would love to see what they are doing with the airspace. I have read about approaches but wonder if we will have vfr lanes or what happens to camden.
  11. If you need to either forward your bigpond email to gmail or get gmail to check your bigpond email.
  12. Also, there can be cloud which makes it difficult.
  13. In Avplan I use abeam so you can still see the airfield but not need to go directly over. Radio calls and keeping an eye or 2 out is still a good idea.
  14. I wonder what’s happening in Mudgee? They extended the taxiway, added services then nothing. Maybe a change in council.
  15. Well, out of Wedderburn. to the south or east is tiger country, to go west of Sydney is tiger country and we live in a 3D world where that extra dimension adds a lot more complexity and extra decision making compared to a car which is basically 2 dimensions.
  16. Make sure your software is up-to-date on the skyecho as well. https://uavionix.com/articles/skyecho-wi-fi-firmware-v2-38-update-latest-release/ https://uavionix.com/support/skyecho/update-skyecho-2-transceiver-software/ Though I doubt that is the issue.
  17. So you joined the wifi of the skyecho on the iPad?
  18. I have a monocular with me but honestly I've never used it. Seemed like a good idea. Much less fiddly and smaller than binoculars. I think I got it from Aus Geographic.
  19. I use X-Plane with HTC-Vive. Works well but it helps to have a more powerful PC to reduce stutters and make you sick.
  20. "This video is private". Can't watch it
  21. Funny if it was just going to Richmond.
  22. I used to have a Zaon PCAS but was very unreliable.

    Xplane 11.55

I forgot to post the link. You can download for free but that will take forever. Pay a fee and you can download much faster. As I said it looks weird up close but up high it looks impressive. https://flyawaysimulation.com/news/4956/#australia

    Xplane 11.55

Nice one, I've been using X-Plane since the early days and was given a VR headset so HAD to buy a PC to suit was using it on a Mac. During quarantine was flying around Australia. I should send some links to get the landscape more realistic. Can't at the moment.
  25. I love watching these that look scale.
