  1. But you would not be allowed outside; air side of hangar doors.
  2. I'll come together for you. Follow the video should be a good start. Brakes can test your patience at times, know this from experiences; many over the years.
  3. I recall a guy Bob Hyman (not sure of spelling maybe Hynam) build two. One in Canada and one in Rockhampton; I watched its first flight and it went great. Flight was at the Central Queensland Gliding Club. He was an RAA instructor with a Drifter. sandman on this forum also had a drifter there and may have a contact for bob; send him a pm.
  4. Have you watched this video?
  5. Looks a good bargain for someone over your way.
  6. Is Gary contactable in NZ?
  7. All replies are general in nature; if the specifics of the type and brand / model of brakes Danny has then can be more specific with replies. (For example the the skyranger brake I have is a single lever / master cylinder combinatioin and when it did not work first up out of box it required a quick home with some fine wet and dry in kero then has been perfect ever since 6 years and 360 hours.
  8. Sounds a good plan; enjoy. (Tip; have available the small bottle and hose like I described in case you need such.)
  9. At work a few years back the office manager was in the next door office and a bird would land on the back steps and peck at the window day after day. I printed off the image and stuck it on the window and the bird did not come back again. The cat looks like it means business.
  10. Saw this a while back on the Skyranger site and thought may be of interest to some during mouse seasons. Duplicate post deleted. Mod.
  11. Do solo; easy on mine as single lever hand brake on stick and can reach both the lever and spanner on caliper nipple.
  12. Also worth looking at the level of calliper as if bleeder is not highest point air will be trapped at top; so need to remove remove calliper and turn to have bleeder at highest point insert a spacer if cannot place over disk while continuing to bleed. Need to do this at first on the Skyranger original brakes.
  13. I do brakes the old car way a short (200mm) hose into a small baby food glass jar. Small amount of fluid in it so end always submerged. Depress brake, open nipple then flow and close and then repeat. Works well.
  14. Here are my covers for fuel tank vent and pitot. A mud wasp started building on my pitot cover.
  15. I've just renewed my ASIC, bit poorer; but hey I can wear it and walk around full of importance and superiority😁🙃😎🤠🤓
  16. Maybe doesn't want to add any extra Kg's as 230's seem to only have about 130kgs for pilot, pax and cargo after full fuel at 600kg MTOW.
  17. I do full D.I. and use checklist / reminder aide memoir to assist in preventing complaincy.
  18. Welcome and look forward to your refurb story and images. Cheers
  19. Some one there will be more than capable to hook up the yellow wire and fuse etc.
  20. Is there a gliding club nearby, if so ask who does their maintenance work. They may assist.
  21. Good info. Not being familiar with Jabs I'll await experienced comment. I have read that Jab 3300 Reg output is 14V + - (0.4V) so 13.2 to 14.8V. Haven't seen any alternator output ac voltage info. Hope this sheds light on your issue. Also a ground run-in sheet for your engine needs to show AC volts at 2800rpm so this data and specs should be out there.
  22. Any luck locating a copy?
  23. Maybe a plate, container / lid or thin cutting board. Anything that is flat from an automotive parts store or big W etc. Even lay up some mat and epoxy in a couple of layers and use hole saw to fabricate the washers.
